I used Garmin Express today to update my device ; it updated the map of EU which came installed on the device but did not offer to update the NA map installed via Navitotal
Does G E not recognise maps installed via Navitotal?

Interesting announcement as it does not distinguish between devices with Lifetime map updates, but none of the listed devices have the suffix LM ,so maybe Garmin is saying you cannot purchase a map up date for these devices ?

I'm tempted to purchase the TOPO Great Britain v2 PRO 1:25K maps, but I'm not sure if I should purchase this as a Download or SD Card, if I wish to unlock this. Both options have restrictions, hence why I wish to unlock. Having never purchased maps before what is the best medium to buy if I wish to use the Protected Garmin File Toolkit (PGFT) to unlock?

My Alpha 100 US version is used to track hunting dogs and recently I purchased a DriveTrack 71 from an authorised Garmin dealer here in Australia but I cannot but link/Bluetooth them together.

I was offered an old GPS V very cheap. I never had a handheld, so I wonder what to expect? Can I update the maps on it? How good - or bad - is the screen and overall performance? Not a lot of info online on this model.

I appreciate any thoughts or info on it.

Using Mapsource with a lifetime map update I created an .img map of SE United States and installed it on my Garmin unit. The map is found, but does not show streets, etc.
In the past, I have had no problems using this technique. Any suggestions?
