Hello thanks for reading this,

I have never posted here before, I went to update my Tom Tom XL and somwhere TomTom home deleted my maps and made it so I can not load the old one anymore says "Item was not valid after Installation: North_America_P" I know it is very old for a GPS it worked just fine until I tried to update it. How can I get the map back on it, it has a 2GB memory that is it.

if anyone else has any information please let me know. This is the first time I have updated it in a long time. I used it over the weekend because we had no cell service, and this thing fired right up after sitting for 10 years or so I was concerned about the time issue and I found tom tom home updates that but in the process, they deleted all my maps :(

It's never a good idea to use TTH as you've already found out.

Yes, it was well out of date and needed a reinstall anyway. Your navcore (application version) should now be 9.541 which is the lastest and probably the last one they'll release for that device and will fix the clock issue too. You need to be more specfic about the map number you've downloaded but it should activate ok if it's a 1110 series map anyway.

What else did you want to know?

Thanks for the reply,

Thanks for the help so far! I have successfully brought my 2009-era TomTom XL S IQ Routes Edition (2GB internal storage, no SD card slot) back to life using TTActivator.

Here is my current setup:Navcore: Updated to patched 9.541.3145439.2

Current Map: Western_US_and_Canada_1110_11860 (v1110)
Features Working: Safety cameras are fully functional, and I successfully applied the TomTom Home "WNRO" time bug fix.The device is working great! We recently took it to the coast where cellular service completely cut out, and this unit handled navigation flawlessly. Because of the strict 2GB internal storage limit, I couldn't fit the full United States map, which is why I settled on the Western US & Canada regional package.

I have two specific questions for the community:

Can I upgrade to Map Version 1170 (or newer)? I couldn't find a valid NAV2 meta code for anything newer than v1110 for this specific model line. Is there a trick to using a newer map version (like converting a NAV3 map package or shrinking a newer regional map) that will work on this 2GB internal memory setup?

Can I bring RDS-TMC Live Traffic back from the dead? The physical FM broadcast network is still highly active here in California metro areas (like Sacramento), so the signal is definitely in the air. Can this be forced to work using a custom mctx.dat file generated via TTActivator 1.20, or do modern community map files lack the necessary underlying TMC location tables to map the data stream?

Any guidance or step-by-step forum links on how to tackle newer maps or the custom mctx.dat logic would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly just getting the time to work with the maps is all I wanted to do .. having a newer map from the one I purchased years ago is a big plus also. Thanks .. TomTom really was a solid brand I couldn't believe when I took the thing out it worked when the smartphone didn't.
