I have an old Nuvi 44, can I do the same as you mentioned here?
I do have a 32Gb FAT sd card.
Thank you very much!

I moved this post as even though your device is designed for both NT & NTU maps, using NTU maps for Europe is the better option.
Create 2 folder Garmin , Map and the sub folder JCV on your SD card.
Download
D6159260A(North).rar
D6210260A(South).rar
Unpack to SD card\Map

JCV (212x234 nuvi/Drive 4x -5x).rar
SD card\Garmin\JCV

Hi
I installed the City Navigator 2024 on Nuvi 2599LMT-D just by copiying on sd / garmin. One file is gmapsupp.img and the other gmapsup1.img.When the device boots i get an error that the "maps cannot be authenticated".Previously the device had 2023.10 and they worked fine.

Unless you have Patched your device you cannot use these unlocked maps.
Check you garmindevice.xml to confirm which HWID you device has.

Hi
I am from Romania / EUROPE.I want to install Central EUrope pack 2024.10. The guy that sold it to me said the garmin has been unlocked so i can use full EU.The problem is he didn't give data cables so people don't mess with Garmin Express that will break the unblock.

Your nuvi 2599LMT-D where is this from, as it would normally have Lifetime maps for the whole of Europe if [Please Register or Login to download file]

One file is gmapsupp.img and the other gmapsup1.img.

The two choices are Central & Eastern Europe and Central Europe but either are gmapsupp.img what is the gmapsup1.img

If the Patching is done correctly with the latest software ,there is no problem using Garmin Express.
You have an SD card why not just put the whole of Europe on the SD card

@GarmanNuvi
The guy that i bought the device told me that it did come only with west Europe subscription and he unblock it to support full Europe. He didn't gave me a cable so i don't know if he is telling the truth or not.Is there a way to check the device maps subscription from factory other than Garmin Express ? I have created an account and put the serial number in the Garmin but i don't get too many info on the device other than it's a nuvi 2599LMT-D.

I saw blocks splitting the EU between East and West or North and South. So gmapsup1.img is the "south" part of Europe map.

@myststars
The maps for your nuvi 2599 are NTU these maps and are split North & South + Foursquare

Get a mini USB cable so you can plug your device into your PC ,go to the Garmin folder ,make a copy of your garmindevice.xml then , On a FAT 32 formatted SD card create a folder called Garmin & place the copy in it, this is now a clone of your device. Unplug your device and plug the SD card in then use Garmin Express to update it.Then you will see what is going on without effecting anything on the device.

Use gimgunlock-0.04 to unlock the map.

For PreProgrammedMaps (on the device) rename to gmapprom.img & place in the .system folder ,put the (D2924380A.jcv)JCV file included in the JCV folder (on a PC change setting to show Hidden & system folders)
For SupplementalMaps (on a FAT 32 formatted SD card)
Garmin/JCV/D2924380A.jcv
Map/gmapsupp.img

These helped me to see map (Nuvi 2595LM) in memory card, it says when i try to search address, Map data is not available.
Files now on SD card:
MAP/gmapsupp.img
GARMIN/JCV/D2924380A.jcv
Help?

Your device is not a nuvi 52 so you are missing important files.
Try this layout on your SD card

Keep your Hat on and just use the "Thumbs up" button

D6165260A(photoReal North).rar
D6212260A(photoReal South).rar

Unpack these from Post #1 and place on SD card
Garmin\JCV\D6165260A.jcv
Garmin\JCV\D6212260A.jcv
Use simulation mode to test JCV's are working.

Welcome to the forum, please start using the "Thumbs Up" button so we can see you found the correct Patched Firmware.
Your device requires Patching to use Unlocked maps
Confirm your HWID in your garmindevice.xml

I moved your Post from City Navigator Europe NT 2024.10 thread as your device uses City Navigator Europe NTU 2024.10 maps
These are the files & structure to use on an SD card for your device once you have Patched it.
