@GarmanNuvi

I have gmapbmap.img in .system folder, and my sd card is much the same except for 2 extra .sid files.

New update just deleted gmapprom from system folder on drive 50
and now when I tick box for CN Europe NTU 2024 all north,CN Europe NTU 2024 all south and CN Europe NTU 2024.10 Foursquare
then chose show map all roads are now showing...Should I have deleted gmapprom at the start? was that the problem?

What is on the device, if you already have a gmap3d.img try changing the SD card gmap3d.img to gmap3d1.img
This is the SD card layout for EU for your device.

Hi all,

I bought Garmin Nuvi 2689LMT recently, and if I understand correctly, it should have full Europe maps already (not only EU)? Because when I search Balkan countries, it actually cannot find (e.g. Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo). Is it possible to download via Garmin Express these maps for free, or I would need to buy them specifically?

If it is second, I tried downloading maps here (north+south, but the links don't work). Once I have them, my navi needs to be patched (can it be checked, cause I think previous user was using an SD with Balkan countries, so potentially it is already patched). Once patched, i just need to put maps to Maps and Garmin/JVC on SD and it should work?

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like your device has had a regional map installed because Full Europe exceeds the storage capacity most properly 8Gb.
Garmin Express can offer you to use an SD card if you want to reinstall Full Europe, it will split the maps between the device & SD card.
