Now your suggestion for me to suggest has piqued me into doing the research I should be doing and I find the x30 has a 400MHz processor and 64MB RAM with SiRFstar III. Unless I am mistaken my 720 has the same combination. Further reading and stumbling upon a chart compiled by our ever helpful Downunder35m reveals a x50 (not the live models) family I did not even know existed. Again the same specs aside moving from SiRFstar to Global Locate.
So, based on the homework you set me and the notion that the higher 1st numeral denotes the bigger internal flash which I never use on my 720 I conclude this. A x50 or x30 of any stripe if it is in great condition.
I can live without the EPT on the 930.
What do you reckon?

Personally I would get a Go x40 or x50....and if you can find one, upgrade the mount to an active dock which would give you RDS-TMC built in.

The 'Live' models have a type of inbuilt sim card that will allow you to get [Please Register or Login to download file] but this is subscription based. I'm happy with the RDS-TMC for now but it's good to know that I could subscribe to Live later on if I need to.

Yes, you're right about the 1st numeral denoting the differences in the models which is mainly the internal drive size. You can copy the navcore and all of your maps onto a decent sized class 10 SD card and run it from there giving you the same device speed and plenty of room for all the maps you'll ever need.

The TMC would be a real bonus in the mount. After all these years still not bought a receiver for my 720. I shall have a look for one.

The active dock only works on Go x40, x50 and the part number is: 9UCB.001.00

Don't confuse it with the non TMC version of the mount that has no aerial...it looks like this (note the aerial):

I shall have a look for one. (for my intended purchase of a x40/50 I mean).
Ta for the part number, without this place and its members TT life would be expensive and at times arduous. I loaded "Truck" 7.902 onto my old faithful 710 today including the large loquendo files. Had it not been for this forum and the old one (the one that no longer has TT) I would have had no chance of making it work.
