Decent skin crashes with Primo 2.0 (9.6.5.211211)

Postby filesupload100 » Sun Apr 07, 2013 6:31 pm

I've downloaded the Decent skin. The thread points out that it's for Primo 2.4.
Inside the "readme.txt" file it points that it's for Primo 2.x, so I gave it a try.

I've copied the file "Decent_color_multi_for_P2_4.zip" from the rar file (\content\skin) to the Primo \content\skin folder.

Turning navi on, I got the message:
Failed to open file:
ui_igo9\480_272\ui\brand_params.css.
exiting application.

So I rename the file templates.css --> brand_params.css

Turning navi on, this time it took a bit longer and I got the message:
Failed to open file:
ico_Exit_sml.bmp#3
exiting application.

I couldn't find a file name that is similar to this name, so I went back to my default skin (diMka) :(

Sorry my friend. I kinda thought so - 2.4 only. Appreciate the effort though.

The author should change the content of the readme.txt file (from 2.x to 2.4).
Anyway, it was a nice experiment, I do like challenges.
Thanks.

You could try 2.4 here http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12043-iGo-Primo-2.4-9.6.13-Complete-Torrent

The file brand_params.css is in data.zip\ui_igo9\480_272\ui\brand_params.css
Renaming the templates.css is absolutely wrong !

On the other side I have no experience with Primo2.4 nor the Decent skin

I saw this version in the past, but I was attentive to Yurbuh Tuggly's Q/A:
Question: Should I upgrade from Primo2 ?
Answer: If you already have a fully working Primo2 9.6.5 distribution, you would not notice a world of difference by replacing it with this newer version.

You're right, but since there is a skin involved, I was searching its files for the solution.
Am I wrong that the skin files overide the original files?

I only bring it up if you want to try that skin again.

OK, i'm convinced :)
Just added it to Torrent agent. As soon as I'll be in the mood to try a new version, I'll play with it. If it works, I'll give the skin another chance.
I've told you that I like challenges, didn't I?

Installed the primo 2.4 9.6.13 version.
Used only the required base files. Works OK but on exit I get a message "Application Primo2.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down.
Added my regional maps. Still works fine but error on exit.
Added the Decent skin. Work fine but error on exit.

When I'll have more free time, I'll check what benefits this skin gives, and try to add addon's (like audio files etc.).

Thanks.

Errors on exit can be down to the licenses installed, try moving unused files out of the license folder...

I delete 5 license files berofe reading your post :), but it's weird, because Primo 2.0 works fine with all files I have in the licence folder.
I'll keep delete one at a time to see how and if it have effect on the error message.

EDIT:
To prevent the error message on exit (Primo 2.4.9.6.13), I had to remove this 3 license files from the license folder:
NavOn Primo PNA HU-R-CZ WEU@09Q4 (NQ, DEM, POI, TMC-Ireland, 3DLM, PSL, JuncV) Content SD #3.lyc
NavOn_N480_Primo_NQFEU_09Q4_Truck.lyc

I had also the error message on exit error.
Deleting the 3 licenses filesupload100 listed solved the problem.
Thanks.
