TL;DR — we're looking for original (unmodified) map update media for the Harman Uconnect 8.4AN (CMC platform, EU VP4, firmware 17.46.01), from 2015 or newer. A full USB stick image is perfect; even just the license/ + content/ folders, or a copy from a rooted unit, is enough to move us forward. Everything we produce goes back to the community for free.

What we're doing. We've been reverse-engineering the nav/update stack on this unit — the system update chain (SyncTool / NaviServer), the navigation activation and licence path, and the iGO/NNG map content format. We have a QNX VM testbench that runs the unit's own binaries, and we're now at the point where the map content path is the missing piece. The goal is to be able to build up-to-date map content for this engine — so these units can get current maps instead of stopping at the 2020 release — and to hand the community the tools to do the same. Longer term that also means being able to build content ourselves (including from open data) once the original packs run out.

Why 2015 and newer. The newest original EU map pack we know of is the 2020 update (2019Q2 data) — it's the one that circulates, and it's also the one that officially wants firmware 17.46.01+. But one snapshot isn't enough to build newer maps: we need to see how the content and licence layout changed across the 2015-onward releases (HMEU2014Q2, HMEU2015Q4, 2019Q2, …). With a few versions side by side we can tell what's format, what's licensing, and what the engine actually checks. Pre-2015/NQEU media is a different lineage, so 2015+ is exactly the range we're after.

What we need (original, unmodified — not the custom repacks):

license/: *.lic, *.lyc, device.nng and their .md5 sidecars — the most important part
content/: dbver.pinfo plus one or two map files (*.fbl; .fda, .fpa, .hnr, .poi also help)
save/, if the stick has one (checksums)
Best of all: a full image of the map USB stick (dd, Win32DiskImager, Rufus…), or a zip of the whole stick
Equally good: from a rooted unit, a copy of /fs/mmc0/nav/NNG/ and /fs/etfs/usr/NNG_save/save
Any region and any state works — EU preferred; used, superseded or "expired" is fine. An old stick from before you upgraded is exactly what we're after. If your System Information screen shows a line like CMCVP4EU;HMEU2015Q4;20170214, a photo of it helps us know what you have. If you still have the 16-character activation code from the map purchase, that's a useful bonus — but the media is the main thing.

Privacy / sharing. No VIN or serial needed. If you'd rather not share a full image, the licence folder plus one country's .fbl is fine, and you can strip anything that looks personal. We won't redistribute the original map data — we'll publish our findings and tools. If links aren't allowed on this forum, PM me and we'll sort out a host (MEGA/Drive/whatever works).

What you get back. The full technical write-up, the tooling, the map-build pipeline, credit if you want it, and early test builds. We're also happy to share what we already have with anyone who wants to check the work. The point is that these units don't get stuck at the 2020 maps.
