Hello everyone!

I just bought a used Garmin Astro 320 and I have a new Topo map from a friend I could use but I need to unlock it first. Can anyone provide an update file?

The device has an old software on it, could it be possible to have the latest v4.6 or at least something newer?

This device does not need to be Patched to use Unlocked maps.
Use Garmin Express to update your FW
Astro 320 | 1339 | 460 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: ------ | GVS: --- | File: Astro320_460.gcd
Legend:

MAP: Yes - it verifies the presence of a valid unlock code, to unlock an .img you can simply use JetMouse keygen.
GMA: Yes - it verifies the FID limit (2200) and the presence of a valid *.gma, to unlock an .img you enough to use the old gimgunlock-0.03 (without MapSigPatch) or one of its derivative.
MSV: Weak - it verifies the validity of map signatures in a simple way, you can unlock an .img using gimgunlock-0.04 (without patching your firmware), but in case of unicode maps (CP65001) you must modify the CP value (see the Temporary authentication of Unicode maps*).
MSV: Strong - it verifies the validity of map signatures more complicated way, in this case you need to patch your firmware and unlock an .img using any correct unlocker.
GVS: Yes - it verifies the validity of firmware signatures, you have to use Updater.exe to install the patched firmware for the first time.

Garmin Nuvi 2599

Hello,

I am looking for a bit of a steer please. I have a Garmin Nuvi 2599. The info from the GarminDevice.xml file is as follows:-

<SoftwareVersion>870</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nüvi 2599</Description>

I have done a search on 2599 but am a bit confused as to what to do.

So, few questions :-
Is this device able to use unlocked maps?
Does it need patching in some way to use unlocked maps, if it is able to at all?
Do I need to do anything such as setting the device to Mass Storage?

I have tried to follow some information on this thread but it seems some of the links are dead --> topic17987.html

Any help would be appreciated.

I attempted this first by just copying the files to the MicroSDCard (not in the folder structure) which didn't work. I then retried with the folder structure as unpacked which did work. Log as below.
