Sorry all but I'm a bit thick today. I tried copying/overwriting the gupdate.gcd file in the garmin folder on my device (GPSMap66sr). After connecting I couldn't see an existing gcd file even after reinstalling the software using Garmin's Webupdater. Just to try i copied GUPDATE_Patched_JNX.GCD and renamed it to gupdate.gcd but ths doesn't work either. Am I missing something here?

After flashing it disappears, see the firmware version in the navigator.

Hello everyone! Please help with a current link to files for patching the Garmin Nuvi 65 navigator firmware.
HWID: 1749
Latest firmware version: 5.60

I tried patching the official firmware v5.60 file, the patching process completed without errors, received the modified firmware file, then renamed it to GUPDATE.GSD, placed the file in the .System directory, but the firmware patching process doesn't occur when replacing the official firmware file and during the second attempt to flash the patched file from a microSD Fat32 memory card.
The navigator thinks for some time when turning on, then reports that software version 5.60 was installed.
However, for some reason this operation doesn't patch the firmware and doesn't enable permission to view unlocked maps, for example, City Navigator Europe NTU 2026.10.

It says it's impossible to unlock the map files!
City Navigator Europe NTU 2026.10 map set - I installed it in the correct file directories according to the instructions.

Therefore, please send me a current link to download the file set for successfully patching the stock firmware v5.60.

[SOLVED] by updating to latest firmware, the old v18.00 cannot read newest charts

Hello, and thank you for your great job in this forum.
I have before the latest firmware version installed V29.01 on my Echomap UHD 72cv. I’ve copied the patched version dated 2021.09.20 to the SD card, flashed success by followwing thoses steps :

1. Turn the device Off
2. Hold the Power button and number 4 button
3. Release the Power button when the Garmin logo appears
4. Release the number 4 button when Recovery Loader Ready appears
5. Insert the software update card
6. The device will now install the software update

After the downgrade, Now i have the Software version : 18.00 patched version
downloaded from : [Please Register or Login to download file]
but I still can't read the "that seem" unlocked charts
like : BlueChart g2 - HXEU718L - Mediterranean Sea 2017.0 (v18.50)
i used the map unlocker and unlocker alternative, but same issue

What did I miss ?

Your Drive 40 Serial 5RF005387 should have FULL Europe, try using Garmin Express.
