Which Navcore for R-Link ?

What is the correct Navcore for R-Link 1 (/ Smart Media System) ?

You'd better ask which navcore suits my device best, R-Link Explorer is independent of the device you use.

So,

after a successful update that unfortunately introduced a system fault (which I described here),
how can I re-run the update (including the firmware update – see attached picture)
even though it’s the exact same software version that is already installed on the device?

Also, is there a developer or diagnostic menu on the R-Link / Smart Media System, and how can it be accessed?

Mercedes-Benz is a complete bitch and even though I bear no fault in this update induced error, they won't help me with this and only offer to sell me a new main control unit for thousands (not stating a price here, because they always say a different price).

Any help or info is again highly appreciated.
