First you need to patch your Rlink2, so it will receive map files different than supported by Renault - this is done by patching iGO partition. It does not matter what maps are there - all maps for Rlink2, including TomTom, are in iGO format. No overwriting is done yet. You just need to check your software version of R-Link 2, dump correct patch files to the USB drive and put it into the car - it should discover it as system update.
After the patch you gather all the files you want - map files, point of interest, 3d building, speed cameras etc. (you can mix them, f.e. I am using TomTom maps, POI and buidings with HERE speed cameras). You need to download it and unpack it to single folder and use SKU Creator to prepare and change those files to appropriate R-Link 2 format. Almost all of it is automatic. Then you copy generated sku files to the usb stick and plug it into the car - it should find update to install. Update can rtake some time so it is best to do this when engine is on.
The best way to get know-how is the video linked in SKU topic - search there for "video tutorial" as I do not know if I can repost this link here, sorry.
If you need further assist just ping me on private message - I do not have time to regularly check the forums lately.
Of course, the risk of corrupting the filesystem of the R-Link 2 is low, but it exist so keep that in mind.
