Dear Friends,

I have strange problem..

I have Garmin XT v5.00.20w for Windows CE 6.0 version working great on my Chinese Wince6 PNA.. I can use the maps.. but the Map display get cut from left side and whatever area is getting cut from left screen, that is getting added from the right side of the screen.. its a half centimeter strip but its annoying..

any solution on this?.. I have standard 480x272 screen resolution. I changed the Map many times.. tried many maps.. same problem.. is ther any problem with Resolution files?

regards

I don't have the answer but you might want to try this http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9284-How-to-create-a-SW.UNL-for-WinCE5-XT

Back up your program first.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

HI Chas521...

I had 20w working fantastic on my PNS wince6...

I backed up the whole folder just if i wont like 30w.. (I have another back up of all the working nav apps of my PNA on my PC. I keep it updated properly. even if i loose my PNA then I have total backup for new PNA)

came to know after upgrade that in 30w the map is getting cut from left side and showing up that part from right side. i tried all the setting to make it work properly.. but no luck..

I removed all the things related to garmin from my PNA.. from MMC also and from Resident Flash also..
then I put the Back up folder of 20w.. and surprisingly I have the same Map cut problem with old working version also.. I though the map .img file must have got corrupted so I changed it from my Garmin Nuvi2456.. No luck.

The Problem is not getting solved with any version now..

Any idea how to hard reset or cleaning registry of the PNA?

It might solve the issue

regards

There might be. If you know how to get to the Windows Explorer on your device [not the computer] you can go to "Regedit" and do a search for Garmin or whatever. I know you know but be very careful because deleting the wrong thing can brick your device. My suggestion is to back up your registry first. Hope this works!

Is there a "run" option in the dropdown menu where the start button might be? If so, type in regedit and see what happens.

Use Total Commander, that is a file explorer that includes a registry explorer, however I have a feeling it's an issue with the graphics driver, might be wrong though.

Bear in mind that these versions of Garmin are supposed to be for windows mobile not windows ce!

Try this method. There is "something" causing a conflict somewhere and some how. It may be the graphics driver but clean up everything you can and go from there.

Download one of my unlocks hosted on this site, like for example, easy shell, the two files you need are CECMD.exe and Registry.tfx, put these two files on your device and run the exe, the registry editor is in the plugins folder
