There's very little information except that it is WinCE5 and does run Tomtom and iGO but no information on how to do it.

So, Can you connect to a PC and browse the contents, What can you see?

I think you are not going to get very far without an SD card since every specification page I could find shows that the device only has 64MB internal storage (not enough room for too much, really), but has an SD card slot for navigation program and maps.

When you turn on the unit, what do you see--is it some sort of Menu where you can make choices, or does it say something like "Insert SD Card"?

You don't need to keep apologizing--you're doing OK!

To do what you want, you would indeed need to "unlock" or be able to start another menu. I am not familiar at all with your device, so I will leave it to somebody else to guide you--and they will probably need more information from the files you can see. Maybe Fatboyfun will be able to help.

I will look into it and get back to you...

A bit of poking around on the 'net reveals that the device will run...

vdoservice.exe

If it finds it in the root of an SD card...

I'll prepare some instructions for Tomtom shortly...

Tomtom on VDO Dayton 2050 S

I don't have personal experience of this device, so this is not guaranteed to work, but i have seen reports that it does.

This is how i would do it, Other people may do it differently!

1, Go here and download my Simple Launcher
2, Read the instructions!
3, Rename RenameMe.exe and RenameMe.mscr to vdoservice.exe and vdoservice.mscr
4, Copy vdoservice.exe, vdoservice.mscr and Mortscript.exe to the root of a SD card (Max 2GB)
5, Go here and follow the instructions and download everything it tells you to...

On your SD card you will have...

\Map folder of your choice\
\Navigator\ {folder}
\AutoActivate.exe
\Mortscript.exe
\vdoservice.exe
\vdoservice.mscr

6, Insert your SD card and reset your device...
7, If all is well a file explorer window will appear, use the file explorer to navigate to... \Storage Card\Navigator\Tomtom Navigator.exe and tap OK. Storage Card may be SDMMC or something else. Tomtom should start and complain about the map in French.
8, Go back to step 5 and re-read the tutorial about setting up Tomtom and activating the maps.
9, That should be it, However this is not 100% guaranteed to work!

Huaaaa... it works perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!! so easy!... you are the best!!!! :) thanks!!!!!!
one question...
this tomtom navigator verison can be changed?...
if yes... for what? pna compatible?... or any one?...
;)

I'd stick with that version as it's the most stable. All WinCE versions are only basic versions and upgrading to a later version achieves nothing.
