Hello, I partially solved the issue of the map cannot be copied to the memory card. When I tried to load the map to the lower memory card, the map was copied without any problem, and when connected to the device the map is working. 32 Gb because I wanted to upload a larger map at first. I used a SanDisk Ultra memory card, then 512 Mb before. And when I tried to a 2 Gb card, the system did the copy. By the way, I installed the computer clean from the beginning, but when the problem persisted, I tried using a low memory card last. Another issue that attracted my attention was that there was only one file in the low memory card, but there were 15 files in the memory card with 32 Gb, 13 of which were 2 GB in size, 001, the bottom file of the RAR type was under 1 Gb.

Hello, I partially solved the problem that maps could not be loaded on memory card. The problem is that the maps I want to upload need more memory, so SanDisk's 32 Gb. I was using the ultra one. I even formatted my computer again and installed it cleanly, I tried it with some copying software and the result did not change. This time the memory card is 512 Mb first. Then I copied it to the 2 Gb memory card without any problem and when I insert it into the device, the maps are working. By the way, only one File appeared in the Low memory card, which was TOMTOM.000, the other was 32 Gb. There are 15 files in the one, and the first one to be copied is TOMTOM.000, just below it is TOMTOM.001 2 Gb. RAR type folder, the size of all the ones from TOMTOM.003 to TOMTOM.013 are the same. Some of them can be deleted, but other small numbered files, including 009, cannot be deleted.

The TOMTOM.XXX files are needed by the TomTom device. They are virtual drive files with a maximum size of 2GB each (TomTom OS file size limit). The device (and R-Link Explorer) knows how to combine the files in a virtual way to support large files for large maps.

You should start over. Insert the memory card into the TomTom to have it initialize it (format it and place the necessary file system support files on it) and then use R-Link Explorer to copy your map onto it.

Also search the forum here for information about 32GB memory card support--there are lots of issues trying to get this large a memory working. I think you'll have fewer issues (or no issues) with a smaller 16GB memory card.

I noticed something else today, this time I downloaded the map I downloaded for the XXL model to my computer and then copied it directly into the map file of my other devices. Later, when I opened the Aktivator and selected the option at the far left and activated there, the map information line turned green and the map became active, and the map was opened after disconnecting the device from the computer and accepting the approval of the device. For now, I have tried this process on XXL, XL and XL 1 models, since the computer directly opens the file system of these devices, it was easier to intervene in the software. Also, after sending the maps to the device, the devices such as the Mydriver software of other via models do not give any errors.

Hello,

I just wanted to make a quick side note/update, maybe it helps someone.

I bought a Tomtom Go Live 1000, with navcore 10.111...so its not stated as working in this thread.

I bought it as a complete noob,,,,but it was cheaper than 2 kilos of bananas, i got it used,,,but in almost mint condition.

I fiddled around with it for a day, it had only the UK and Ireland map,,,,and im in Hungary. So it was of no use to me....

till....i found this forum.

This method for download ing maps, WORKS.

I now have Europe Central, East and West on it.

GPS fix also works.

GPS signal is slower than I would like, maybe its cause of bad reception or cuz of the WRNO, and It cant be fixed like the old Tomtom home device method, by copy pasting to its internal memory.

BUT. the device works, in europe,,,with the 1070.10883 maps, much better than throwing it away, or just looking at it nostalgicly.

SO thank you, and the guy who invented this TTActivator is a genius.

Wow, this all works like a dream!
My sincere compliments by the developers and fredderf !
Too bad, it is only valid for a specified number of devices. But still...
A map downloader, validator, installer, enabler...
What puzzles me though: Why should one download these these maps from the download section if this does it so fast and so well?

One question though.
How I remove an existing map?
I need to remove an old Europa map and replace it with a few smaller maps.
I already replaced the Europe map with the smallest zone map but of course that is an old version map.

I suppose I can add a micro sd card to give me extra storage.
But is it also possible - if the original map can not be deleted - to damage and then remove it? ;-{)

Edit: Meanwhile I added a micro sd card and installed the 1070 Europe map on it.
I had some difficulties with getting the sd card to work. I ended up reformatting it fat32 on the laptop and then inserting it into the TT and it offered to format it again to it's liking.
The R-Link program was also a bit puzzling (and with an absolute dreadful Dutch 'translation') and I had trouble getting where I needed to be. Keep an eye on the status message in the lowerhand left corner for an affirmative message!

All in all, I managed to upgrade this Start 60 with 7,5 years.

What are the first two digits of your device's serial number?

Allright, I just wanted to know what you had.
As I posted above I also had some difficulties: "I had some difficulties with getting the sd card to work. I ended up reformatting it fat32 on the laptop and then inserting it into the TT and it offered to format it again to it's liking."

Could you try formatting it again and see if your TT offers the same service?

I do assume you checked the exact navcore version?

Oh wait: If you continue to have some sd recognition issues, you might wanna experiment with a smaller card that does fit on your local memory. The process is quite fast and not too difficult.
Success!

Excellent video and tools, my only comment which held be up for awhile trying to understand, is when the vdeo goes on to explain the use of a micro SD card. I feel there is one step needing explanation before a new card can be used within an external micro SD card reader. A new card must be inserted first within a TomTom and formated by the TomTom before it can be used within the card reader. With this extra step the video and instructions are great.

Goodnight. I really liked the theme and I longed that one day this help would appear. Thanks to all who did. I will try to put it on my TT, but when I open TTActivator v1.15, it says there is a new version v1.16, should I update? Thanks.
