Compatible map for XL IQ Routes ², XL Classic

Postby Hotpants2022 » Sun Nov 27, 2022 11:38 am

Hi, it appears that this model has no external SD slot but has 2GB internal memory and 64MB RAM.

Can one of you good people please advise what 1100 Europe West map would fit on this device. I have to update the navcore, presumably Tomtom Home or Tomtom Connect would do this. At present there is no map on the unit.

Many thanks,

Hotpants.

Hello,

For the navcore you would need version 9.541 (the latest for nav2). You must use TTHome for this device
For maps you can choose between Europe_West_1100_11648 (1.52 Gb), Europe_South_West_1100_11648 (1.72 Gb), or Europe_Zone_3_1100_11656 (1.85 Gb)
By take out the cspeech files you can make them 150 Mb till 200 Mb smaller.
For the Zone_3 map you must also take out the arp_*.dat files and the cphonmlh.dat file. Than it wil be about 1.65 Gb

succes
Peter

As Peter says, you have a few choices but which actual countries MUST you have coverage for as some of these maps do vary in countries included?
PS I can't find/see a new/current Coverage & Search tool anymore but maybe Peter has a current copy/version available?

Hi PeterHimself and biggerdave, many thanks for the help.

France and UK are a must, possibly Belgium/Luxembourg depending on route.

I have the 2GB Europe maps on my TT XL Classic, but I can't figure out what year they are - is there a way to find this info out?

Also, what year are the maps in the link listed above on the download.tomtom site?

BTW, this doesn't seem to work amymore.

Thanks

Thanks but where do I find this out on the unit itself?

Also, is it actually possible to update the XL beyond a certain year as I keep getting emails from TOMTOM stating the maps are out of date since around 2018/19?

Cheers

Greetings

Go to your GPS and in Status of information, you will see something related to version information and this is where it comes to you which version of the map you have installed...

Then the GPS is not updated by dates, but by version of the maps, currently there is version 1105...

Thank you

Well that took a while to find. Never seen this screen before! But I still can't determine which map version I have and which is the latest I need as the numbering system doesn't seem to match.

Your old map is version 845

It's irrelevant anyway because the latest series is 1105 which the other members have been trying to tell you. Choose a map from that series to download

v845 is from Feb 2010 so 13 years out of date!!!! Still shows the old Roman Roads I guess.

I think it is time to learn how to read the chart.
