Hi
I downloaded the img file, and all the other various files that are with it. All have been unzipped, I tried installing onto the SD card in the Nuvi2597, Basecamp can see it, but says no unlocked maps found when i try to install. Tried gimgunlock0.04, seems to have unlocked it, but no change

Thanks in advance

Everything is unlocked. You didn't say if you are updating an out of date nuvi 2597 with existing SA maps on or you are adding SA maps to another zone device if adding you will have to rename the second gmap3d.img to gmap3d1.img

Hi, thanks for your response. Its a fully up to date 2597, adding an additional map (currently has europe 2020, lifetime updates installed)
I have tried the above, installed onto SD card in the device, its seen in Basecamp, but says can't find unlocked maps.
Trying the device, its says map is not unlocked, but basecamp says not lockable.
I feel like i've tried everything, but its probably something simple.

Extracted all files with 7 zip, then removed .rar orginals
put all onto freshly formatted 16gb micro SD card
Did as suggested above, renamed 3d file, and also created SQLite file on device and copied this file across, but still the same result

many thanks

Please check in your Garmin folder for garmindevice xml open with Notepad and find the HWID 1582 or 2077
<PartNumber>006-B1582-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>950</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nüvi 2597</Description>
It looks like it needs to be Patched we can do that once you have confirmed the HWID
You should not have created a new SQLite folder as it exists in the "Hidden".system folder. To see the .system folder you will need to put your device in Mass Storage mode
To change to Mass Storage. for Nuvi 2597.

1. Bring up the volume screen on the GPS.

2. On the upper right hand corner. Press your finger on screen and hold for appx 10 seconds.

3. Shortly you will see the developers screen.

4. Find MTP Settings and touch it.

5. It will show 3 selections. MTP Auto Detect,Mass Storage and Mass Storage Single Session.

6. Touch Mass Storage as your selection.

7. Now select save and you are good to go.

<SoftwareVersion>880</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nüvi 2597</Description>

Garmin software says fully up to date.

Device is now 'mass storage', but forgive me for asking, where should i find this .system file, as I can't locate it.

Thanks a lot

Your device will need to be Patched

Nuvi 2xx7-2xx8 C4 (2077) fw8.80.rar SD card Kit for HWID 2077 ONLY
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card in device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.
Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed,so keep a copy of it somewhere safe.
