Which map

Which map

Postby halfman » Sun May 26, 2019 2:02 pm

Not used my tomtom for many years as I had built in satnav, but now need to use it again.
I have updated the TomTom one XL with software 9.541.1-2042, but Im struggling with maps, which will be the best Map considering I only have a 1GB S/D card in the unit.

Thanks

NC 9.541 can use any map that has a matching meta code to activate it

Of course, you didn't say which map you might be interested in so would you like us to guess?

Erm...ok well, you're near Lichfield so my guess will be UK & ROI?

Sorry But Im Near Nottingham.
I do not need any particular map(although latest is always good), just one that works with the downloaded software.

Finally got a map to work but it looks like the TomTom is no good,it keeps rebooting every two minutes.

Yes ok, so you want the latest UK & ROI map that'll be ok with your XL...

Try the following: United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 1025_9432

Thanks fredderf,
I'll try that map,but looks like my battery has shot it-within seconds of coming off charge the TT shuts down.
Strange as even on external power I keep getting reboots.

Maybe time to buy a new Satnav.

at the risk of asking something obvious,i have the xxl and how do you know which map has the meta included ? i have downloaded uk 1025_9434 and it wont create a dct which apparently indicates no meta available,do you scroll through the metas available and try to match the map to it ?

In short, it makes sense to download a map that already has a meta code available.
