It's all in (or linked to in) post #1

This includes almost ready to go packages.

Newbie, so hi everyone and thanks for having me on the forum, what I've read already in Part 1 has helped me enormously.

I have a Binatone G430 that opens up (with two bongs) to the Navigation and Menu buttons, but does not load the GPS program when Navigation is pressed.
Does this describe what you call "bricked"?

I'm curious to get it going with the inbuilt MobileNavigator.exe, if that is still possible.
When connected to a PC by USB I find there are populated DataFlash, MobileNavigator and Maps etc folders on the device, and MobileNavigator.exe is present.
The only anomaly my limited knowledge can find is a setup filename that maybe should end with ".ini" but is actually "MobileNavigator\SystemSet.in_" (that's "in + underscore", not "in + i")
If I make it "ini" will it make things worse?

It will run Miopocket Mini 4.0 from an SD card, which enables me to open Pocket-GPS with my own JPG maps for finding my way on hikes.
However, Pocket-GPS will not run on its own without Miopocket.
When all its folders and the exe are placed in the root of the SD, with the exe renamed and a suitable SHELL.ini, it stalls again at the Navigation and Menu screen.
Is this another indication that the device will now only run from MioPocket or similar?
If so can you point me towards a solution even lighter than MioPocket Mini, as I only want to run Pocket-GPS on it?
Thanks
Michael

The problem is miopocket, it changes everything throughout the registry and generally messes it all up.

So what should work probably now doesn't.

Thanks for the reply Fatboyfun, much appreciated.
The unit had those symptoms before I installed MioPocket, it was in that condition when I bought it secondhand.
So if there are no fixes that's not a problem as it runs MioPocket.
I believe there are other packages like MioPocket, can anyone suggest a very simple one?
What I mean is one that ideally boots to a screen with one button labelled "Navigation".
MioPocket is great but 3 screens and toolbars everywhere is OTT for running one app (Pocket-GPS), so a slimmer alternative would be great.
Cheers

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?7814-Easy-Shell-for-Binatone-(and-other-MobileNavigator)-devices

I created this a while ago, it was specifically for Binatone devices, and was drag and drop onto a sd card to install, however getting it to run on a miopocket tweaked device may be an issue.

"Yes, that's what I'm talking about!"
Thanks Fatboyfun, that looks the business, I'll give it a go

Sun Sep 29, 2013 2:54 pm

Which downloads have you tried?

Sun Sep 29, 2013 3:49 pm

ive tried one from yourself, but evertime i click on the server the downloads seem to be like redundant links??

we've got a binatone F430 , Igo8 is loaded on the root of a 2gb sd card and is running fine just can not get the maps?

I know they were downloaded yesterday by another member. I used a multi host site, so try another link, some may be dead, but some are still working.

If not, go to the iGO map section and you'll find alternative links, it might mean downloading larger archives though.

Hi

Just tried Easy Shell on my Binatone G430.
Put the Easy Shell and MobileNavigator folders, and SHELL.INI, onto a card named SDMMC.
Rebooted, pressed "Navigation" button, got this error message:

Expected 'EndIf' but found 'EndSub'
Line 38 'EndSub'(\SDMMC\MobileNavigator|MobileNavigator.mscr):
EndSub

Hope you can help please.
