LOOKET G8 (Sygic 7.5 with UK & ROI) upgrades

Tue Mar 19, 2013 5:48 pm

Hello Fellas!
(I'd like to ask ask you for a advice/guide for the particular unit upgrade)
Currently I am seeing if it would be worth it reverting "native SYGIC" navigation software. I Can run Primo 1.1 without problems, do have issues with Primo 2.0,
Here it is:
[Please Register or Login to download file]

Processor Samsung S3C2440A RISC Microprocessor 400MHz
Operating System Microsoft Windows CE.NET 5.0
Memory 64MB SDRAM
32MB Flash ROM
GPS Antenna High Performance Built-in GPS Antenna
Display Wide View 3.5" TFT LCD 320 x 240 Pixels
With Landscape Mode
Expansion Slot 1 SD(Secure Digital)/MMC(Multi media Card) Slot
Audio Output Built-in Speaker
3.5mm Stereo Headphone Jack
Input Method Stylus Pen, Touch Screen, Software Keyboard
External Ports RS232 Serial Port
User Controls 4 Function Buttons
(Power, Home, Volume Up, Volume Down)
Touch Screen, Hold Button
Power ON/OFF
Dimension 115 x 73 x 20 mm
Battery Rechargeable and Removable Li-ion Battery
Power 5V, 1.5A, AC and Cigarette Car Charger
It runs Sygic TeleAtlas Maps

So the questions would be:

1- What Version of patched Sygic I could run with such hardware? (and how to go about it)

2- What maps I could use for (1-) such version of navigation software? (Do have NQ 2012 Q2 full Europe) How do I go about .MLM file if I fail to update to newer Sygic Nav Soft to get newer(which) maps?

3- is it worth it? does anyone run both iGO Primo and Sygic for a comparison? (Currently, from my memory I rate iGO Primo 2.0=8*; iGO Primo 1.1= 7.5*; Garmin NUVI 255W=5*; TomTom 7.45= 7*; and Sygic 7.5 V2(updated)= 6*)

Thanks guys!

Smaller task first!
If I was to leave Sygic 7.5 navigation software
It uses .PAK - map files
and .MLM as licence file
also codes in .txt for (understandably TeleAtlas) map

How do I go in about loading updated map files NavTeQ 2012 Q2 files, that are in .fbl .fda .fpa .fsp map files? would they need activation- license? also, will Point of Interest files .poi work and where should I place them?
BTW current .MLM file contains command-
[GBR]
[IRL]
only

Gotcha!

shame to be DL'ing maps, if I am unsure which /where from to DL, how to activate ONLY if there's better, than Sygic 7.5 software is about and different maps for it...
You wouldn't know specs as what Sygic build would this unit be able to run?

also... as per giggle what would one think about-
Code:

?
or 10. something or 12 or else builds?

My only experience with Sygic was on Android.

Which version was it?

I think it was 11.6 but I'm not 100% sure and it was very good, I have no idea if the windows version is the same.

any ideas, as what I should be trying? (to have hardware to "pull"?)
