I confirm that I have HWID 2087.

I read the thread you pointed to, copied the unrared archive to an empty SD card in my device, shut the device down completely and rebooted.
But then there was nothing like "Loader" on the display as described in the thread. Instead the device booted normally.
However, I have a B154.bin on the SD card now.
The device shows me that GPS firmware 6.17.07 is installed.

Does that mean the patch has been successful?

I managed to verify myself. The patch is installed alright.

Bummer thought it worked but only worked with UK & ireland map and If I delete that and try Europe North NTU map It does not Display all roads and my location...Even after patch
I redone patch with sd card and when installing patch a red line appears near bottom of drive 50 screen then disappears and says done...
Should that red line not turn into green progress line to show it is loading?"

I am currently using an ETREX 20.I got a few Garmin Topo Maps wich work just fine with it.
looking to update to an ETREX 32x.Will the the maps still work?

I`m using eTrex 35 Touch and when I start my device with new map, amap that works and loads into BaseCamp fthe following message appears on the screen....

"An error occurred while trying to authenticate maps
Contact the seller/shop where you bought the map if you need help"

How do I solv it?

Your Etrex 22-32 will need to bee Patched
Confirm your HWID by looking in your garmindevice.xml.

Welcome to the forum, you don't say what map or where you got it from. Please start using the "Thumbs Up" button so we know you have found the right download.
Your device can be Patched to use unlocked maps.
eTrex Touch 25/35 | 2140 | 380 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Weak | GVS: --- | File:
MSV: Weak - it verifies the validity of map signatures in a simple way, you can unlock an .img using gimgunlock-0.04 (without patching your firmware), but in case of unicode maps (CP65001) you must modify the CP value
Confirm your HWID by looking in your garmindevice.xml.

Yes firmware is 5.91 and BUP_154.bin on sd card but when I chose europe ntu 2024 all north image
It does not display detailed roads just car icon and few roads

You won't as it does not need Patching to use Unlocked maps as you wrote !

Hey guys, might be a dumb question but I can use unlocked g3 maps on my garmin quatix watch. But my question is - is there some guide how to actually unlock garmin maps? There are times where I would simply buy one map and would like to copy it to my friends watch as well as we are both sailing on the same boat (and buying it twice is crazy).
