HWID 2426 is an echoMAP CHIRP 4x unit, not a Plus.
The ECHOMAP Plus 4x Series has HWID 2807.
Please find out the unit HWID and name in the GarminDevice.xml file from your device.

If it turns out that you really have a Plus, then here's the current patched firmware for it:

slackie wrote:Curious on how you managed to patch this image? The IMGpatcher tool does not read the bundle and using the fw_all.bin files separately using RGNTOOL does not provide any matches for MSV or GVS.

The firmware of any marine devices contains a completely different anti-piracy algorithm, leave it alone ;)

Wow you've been busy this weekend  Start using the "thumbs Up button so we can see what you have downloaded before.
Patched Firmware is found with you HWID as not all devices with the same name have the same firmware.
To avoid bricking your device confirm your HWID from the garmindevice.xml

Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card into your device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Gpsmap 64S for my hiking with the Topo france V5 map which works well but I see that the latest V6 version has added a lot of small paths in my area, so I downloaded the latest version of the map but it didn't work either on basecamp or on my gps.

I see here that I need to patch my device, so if any of you can help me with this, I'd be very grateful.

Below is the information on my device :

<PartNumber>006-B1859-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>660</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>GPSMAP 64s</Description>

Thank's again,
Hrotland.

Thanks for your help GarmanNuvi !

I hadn't thought about the possibility of a search, sorry.
I'm a beginner in both GPS and forum use.

I put the file on a 32GB SD card formatted in FAT32 but the device didn't boot on it, it turned on normally. I tried putting the file directly into the device's internal memory, and it took a little longer to boot, but there was still no "loader" message.

I've just tried relaunching with the SD card containing the unlocked map, but the device is still blocked.

Have I forgotten a step?

Sorry if I have missed an answer , been 'off-site' for some years. Is there a version for the Garmin Zumo XT2 (brand new model) - hoping to add North America to my EU version just purchased?

I moved your post to this thread ,as it covers your question.
For a few years newer device's firmware could be patched (determined by their HWID) to use unlocked maps, since the DriveSmart 65 the firmware has been encrypted on these later devices.
Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,55,65,66,71,76,86, zumo XT & XT2 ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 are all in the same category.
No solution as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new encrypted format.

Welcome to the forum, don't apologize for asking questions.
It's important you confirm your HWID is 3028 by looking in your garmindevice.xml
