Thanks for you reply, that is the GCD file, I was looking for the 1772 flash kit similar to the HWID 1948 Flash Kit. I am familiar with booting up with those files on the SD card - don't know what to do with just the gcd file other than replace the original.

If you have older firmware share it here ,but I think the Edge 1040 would have encrypted firmware from new.
Look on your PC for older FW

I don't own a Garmin with that firmware, but I have no idea when they locked the firmware down, and I saw in a shop that on start screen there was a Copyright of 2021 mention so I thought I could buy that one.

However I have a link with the update file of the 12.14 version, could that help?

I tried the link (etrex 32 (HWID 4333) V2.80.rar) from 2023 - but it's dead. Wondering if you could please provide a new link for patched firmware for 006-B4333-00. Even better if it's for the newer 2.90 firmware. Also I can see you put in a lot of effort on this thread - would just like to say thanks.
