Thank You!!!!

I've been trying to figure this out for 6+ hours and it's driving me crazy. I downloaded all the tools, believe I'm doing everything right and I get a "there is a problem with this Garmin application" error when using the updater in preboot. Weirdly the device shows up as 25x9, but I don't think this is the issue, as I've triple checked the HWID, and I've tried a half dozen other units of the same model --all give me the error. Why do I need the HWID anyway if it's automatically entered correctly on RGN and the patcher?
How can i just create an SD card that will auto-update these units?
G'day here's a SD card Patch kit I made a while ago.
The HWID is more important than Model number, as for example not all nuvi 2597 use the same firmware. Changing HWID in RGN tool does not change the firmware only the number. Obviously if you are getting the .gcd from the device it's self you know it is the correct one to patch.

Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card in device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.
Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed,so keep a copy of it somewhere safe.
