Universal Firmware Patcher for Protected Garmin Devices

I have a DriveSmart 50 HWID 2267, with 5.2 software I cannot see any info on this device. Can someone give me a pointer please as to how to apply the patcher to it.

Yes ! It is mentioned in the post already the procedure is the same! All you need is to copy the file GUPDATE.GCD from your device on the patch software the you delete the previous file and put in her place the new patched one!
BECAREFULL to use you own file from your system if you download a new firmware from Internet check that the HWID is the same.

After the fixing of this device above i would like to inform that some devices smart drive and de luxe 40/50 cannot be patched correct with this method but only by SD card.
I will not explain more but only in PM because i have noticed that other sites that was giving links for this solution faced problems so if anybody has same problem and device to contact me by PM to see if we could help him.

I have a 2689lmt with USA maps and I want install Europe maps in a sd card.
If I patch the firmware, can I will update the USA maps by GarminExpress in the future?

In order to be absolutely sure you may keep the original firmware by copied it somewhere and reinstall it at any time later on again on your device. Also at any moment if you do re-update of a new firmware with Garmin Express again it will be locked.
But as much that i know this patching does not affect to the re-update of a Life Map this should be related with the device number somehow i suppose.

Did you delete from the device the old Gupdate.gcd file? Try again

yes, old file deleted. Updater loading sucsess. but device stuck at SOFTWARE LOADING

One importrant thing, when I open gcd with RGN converter it wright "I am lost after 2 sections.Lets forget the rest and abort"

Most probably the .rgn that you try to update is corrupted somehow why you do not try with gupdate.gcd file but increase by 1 the number

RGN converter from http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/RGN_Tool#RGN_Tool-Download decide problem! My version 0.32 (saved file 15mb) from URL downloaded 0.82 and it save 40mb file!!! device reflashed but map autentification error still present.
