Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card in device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.

Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed,so keep a copy of it somewhere safe.

I'm still unsure why you would risk Bricking your device during Patching, when you have the two maps sets working that you need.If space is an issue use an SD card.If you think the device is slower un check/tick the map set in Mymaps you are not using.

What about future unlocked maps. So my unit will work with any unlocked maps, just copy and paste .img file to SD card and SmartDrive should recognized the map?

You have a premium GPS and one of the latest devices that can still be Patched.
IMO.In the future,if you are travelling outside of Europe or N.America you can Patch your device then so you can use Unlocked maps.

Good of you to suggest sharing your N.American files.They are well covered at the moment as there are many members from that region.https://www.navitotal.com/post176364.html#p176364

A couple of important things to remember NEVER share your Device ID or your garmindevice.xml ,your files also contain .unl which have unlock codes specific to your device and the device ID can be gained from them.
