Universal Firmware Patcher for Protected Garmin Devices

Please, I have a Drivesmart 66. I have a 32G microsd card. I loaded some unlocked maps using "Mapinstall", but when I turn on the Garmin, it says the maps are corrupted. Do I need a firmware patcher? If so, is there a currently working link and clear instructions?. I downloaded something above called "nuvi 25x9 (1758) fw 8.80.rar" but I don't know it's right nor what to do with it. I'm very confused and a lot seems quite outdated. I also have a Nuvi 3950- would that be easier? Thank you.

Hello, I think it's the same situation as 55 65 76 86 | of the new Garmin devices, at the moment there is no solution.

Welcome to the forum.
gajevi52 is correct your DriveSmart 66 has encrypted Firmware .
Firstly no other firmware patched or not will work unless you need a "Brick"
I assume you mean a nüvi 3590 ,the way you find out if a device need patching is to look inside the garmindevice.xml for the HWID
<PartNumber>006-B1258-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>850</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nüvi 3590</Description>
</Model>
Then search this topic using your HWID
If it is 1258 it does not need patching
Before you post, "The archive is corrupt or damaged"
Please make sure your archive software is up to date or just Use the latest [Please Register or Login to download file]

Thanks a lot. Giving up on the Drivesmart 66. It looks like the Nüvi 3590 is going to work.
