Hi, can anybody help me to locate a patch for HWID b4449? I tried to search for "HWID 4449" and "patch 4449" in the forum, but had no luck.

Thank you!

Generally if you can't find a Patch with the HWID means it's not patchable, searching also with "Drive 53" would confirm the bad news

For a few years newer device's firmware could be patched (determined by their HWID) to use unlocked maps, since the DriveSmart 65 the firmware has been encrypted on these later devices.
Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,53,55,65,66,71,76,86, zumo XT ,zumo XT2, Alpha 200i, Montana 700 ,GPSMAP 67 & 67i are all in the same category.
No solution as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new encrypted format.

Thank you for confirming this, GarminNuvi! I did read the post you quoted back before, but hoping some patch may come up recently.
Although it is a bad news, thanks anyway to confirm it, so I at least know I did my due diligence.

Have you tried, what errors do you get, but it looks like the firmware is encrypted.
Firmware version as specified in GCD file: 24.56 for Unknown device (HWID 4169).
File format not recognized.

Hi, how to put this map and where in Garmin Fenix 8 to be working?

I put it same way as in my Fenix 6 (GARMIN folder) but Fenix 8 didn't recognize it.

Thanks!

Dear friends. I have the GPSMAP 276cx device, but for now I cant find actual link to Apdater application? Would you be so kind to share it with me, please. Garmin provides only WebApdater, and as far as I understand I need Apdater with file load option.

Thanks much for responding. Generally I'm trying to change my default firmware 590 on GPSMAP276Cx to patched firmware 590 in order to unlock device. After exploring forum and it's topics I have:
- patched firmware 590 for GPSMAP276Cx file GUPDATE.GCD
- I know, how to launch device in pre-boot mode
- I know, how to clear Non Vol after flashing process is finished

But I can't understand, how to change original firmware. What apdater should I use? GarminCure3 tool or WebApdater from Garming website? What are the steps? Because all the information from the whole thread is somewhere out of date, or with broken links.

I was carefully exploring forum, but mentioned points and steps are still not clear. And I'm afraid to make a fatal error, that causes "brick mode" for the device.

Patched firmware for HWID 2479 here.

[Please Register or Login to download file]

Download and unpack GUPDATE_Patched_JNX.GCD on to the PC where your device is attached.Your desktop is easy

Then you can drag-and-drop GUPDATE_Patched_JNX.GCD onto the WebUpdater "Short cut icon" on your desktop.

Yes, thank you very much for your response and attention to my question. I did everything exactly, but time after time I get an error: The Garmin device cannot program the required memory area...
