Looks like I have a similar dilemma. I bought a Garmin Drive 60 LMT thinking the bigger screen would be easier to see with these old eyes of mine. But the maps I purchased for my older unit won't run. If I'm understanding correctly what I've read on here, it is possible, but I have to run a patch on the unit and unlock the maps? Any help greatly appreciated. Drive 60 hwid 2268 soft. ver. 5.20. Thanks!

I have a DriveSmart 50 HWID 2267. When I patch the Version 5.20 the file size is 1 Byte less than the unpatched File. The GPUPDATE.GCD is not recognized, original .GCD Files are accepted. How can I get a patched Firmware for my device, Ver 5.20 or 5.30?

First of all i am not sure that your old device may need a patching! Second the Gupdate.gcd usally is in the garmin directory or in a hidden .system in the newer devices.
Did you tried just to copy in your device unlocked maps? they may be recognised

You are rigth, no patch needed for that Device, just use Unlocked NT Map lower than 2 GB
