Hmmm! Getting to the device's registry can be a job in itself. Could he use "Total Commander" to open us his registry so he could remove all traces of MioPocket?

Yes, but it's not that easy, things would have been added, deleted and changed. During the installation of miopocket a snapshot of the original registry would have been taken, it should be restored during the uninstallation.

ok so thank you both for one .. 2 umm i have lost all my originle back ups from the firt install due to a crupted sd card .. in that way im hooped .. fbf no i am not running scripts outher than the mort that came with it. i didnt know there were outhers outher than the 3 to fix the find gps issue. . i have not tryed nuthing els since talking to you guys but i am trying to get back road maps to think about puting out a map for this software.. im desprite now cuz thats the hole reason i started plaaying with this in the first place ... i just want my garmin back .. igo still works but it wont suport what i need in my offroad jeep

I think at this time only a hard reset will help, and usually you need to reflash the device to do one.
The Garmin folder that keeps appearing is normal, the script is copying it from a backup, it's where Garmin stores it's settings.
Did you uninstall miopocket by using it's own uninstall option, or did you just delete it's folders? If you just deleted it's folders then put them back (if you have them) and use the uninstall option.
Don't use a fresh copy of miopocket as it won't have your registry backup saved.

good day again i went back to it thismorning a lill so this is the same basic iv said .. iv tryed the uninstall from ithin miopocket.. (still missing the original back up) but it does seem to back to (normal) igo runs , rout 66 runs (need map for this) but garmin still dosent . so what do you sujest next i have the exe access and win ce 6.0. is there a way from this point to unlock it and play .. i looks like i will need that ability aka a explorer or something

The problem is miopocket has changed something in the registry that Garmin relies on.
I believe Garmin needs explorer.exe running to start, try running \windows\explorer.exe (Nothing may happen) before starting Garmin.
Failing that, there is a hard reset option in miopocket, you could try that, however you will need to configure your device so miopocket doesn't run and reinstall itself afterwards, (rename the mioautorun.exe while miopocket is running) obviously backup anything Garmin related first.

You won't harm your device by running explorer.exe, but using the hard reset option is risky, but you need to balance the risk with whether you can live without Garmin or not.

i realize explorer.exe is fine and to have garmin back is worth the risk lol but if it fails i dont want a brik lol..... ok so iv tryed the explore.exe found on the system route(in windows folder)... didnt do any thing so can ya give me a basic step by step for my next step please .. lol. and i rilly dont think i flashed my unit as i look into it i still run of my sd card for mio pocket . so im gonad do as ya sujest and un install it and re name the exe from inside and see what it does for my garmin ... can you sujest a good unlocker so i can use the ce system once mio is gone. ps i cant chang the languige to english in ce do i need a dll

ok so i think i got mio pocket off now on to getting garmin 5.00.30 back.. when i go to fire it up now (run the exe) it seems to try the screen goes black and then back to navi selection ui screen .. if ya try to re click it it dosent do nuthing .. my igo still runs fine and my route66 runs good to
i still need a way into my ce side cuz its now locked again . and i bet its still in chinese lol
so im at a stand still .. i dont wana mess it up again

good day ok so after countless hours of reading and serching and soforth iv goten this far (i have my start buton and im into basic settings (all in chinese)) i used pnadesktop 2 mio is off my unit but i still have a mio folder in the root flash folder with autorun and some outher bs 3 garmin stil wont run but i now get a explorer.exe error in chinese i belive this is explore missing cuz i cant find it now in any windows directory .. question? can i get a full win ce 6.0 distro and copy sections over like .dll and so forth and try to build a reasonabule ce os and 2 how do i stop or minimize my original pna (navi pics soforth) menu so i can have the ce desktop full so i can add sortcuts .. if i can get thaat far ill fig out the rest .
and how the heck cn i make a reg back up at this point ps thank you fatboyfun for a post on another link that led me to pnadesktop.

There's nothing you can do except flash an English rom, if one exists...

1, Good man!
2, Did you use the 'Uninstall Miopocket' option?
3, No, You will need to modify parts of the registry to 'register' certain dll's.
4, Using PNADesktop is a good idea, application shortcuts are easy to make, and you can run Total Commander to get file system and registry access.
5, There are apps available to backup and restore the registry, however i think a hard reset is needed here.

1 thx 2 yep but i till see mio files in the root so should i del them 3 damb on the dlls lol but im willing to lern 4 phadesktop only gives me a start bar and i still get the pna menu ontop aka cant rilly see the ce desktop (help on this is needed ) 5 if i hard reset with out the original back up from my mio install wont it brick it ? ........ let me note that my igo crashes now on a restar aka turn the truck off then on ... so a hard reset may be in order .... im also still missing explorer.exe off my unit ..and garmin still dead
