Navigon 4310 MAX, no idea what I'm doing, what can I run?

Got a totally blank 4310 from the in-laws thats been formatted by mistake.

What can I do with this unit? It's totally unmarked so a shame to throw it, but I really know nothing about these units. Don't know much at all about gps systems but managed to work my way through my tom-tom.

I updated mine to a 42 Plus (8.0.1 build 2742).
I'm running MN 8 (flow) on one right now.


Install onto internal memory, edit these two lines in NAVIGON\Settings\SettingsPerformance.default

<SextantCacheSize>12048</SextantCacheSize>
<TotalSize>8000</TotalSize>

Then install what sounds and maps you want. I'm not sure how nfs files work, but on my device there are:

MapDrawer.nfs
NavigonRealityView_EU.nfs
poicats.nfs
sat_EU.nfs
TMC.nfs
TruckAttributes_EU.nfs
Brunnel_EU.nfs
CountryProfiles.nfs


You can also run 40 Plus software (7.7.4 I think), but I can't help you with that.

And that means absolutely nothing to me, although it does sound good!! :):)

Right some progress, downloaded and installed that file onto said machine and theres life!

Only trouble is the language is only in russian? or something.

So I need to cure that, and also need to find most upto date maps for western europe that fits on the machine (1.7gb)

Still after a lot of help here people, but I'm getting there.

You need to get the sound files to get the device in the language you want.

This thread has the maps you would want. Get the whole package and copy over the maps that you want.
Copy over all the nfs files too. Put them in /NAVIGON/MAP

The sounds can be found in this download. Don't copy over everything, just the sounds/languages that you want from the sounds directory.

I have the exact same problem, formatted my 4310 MAX when I was trying to install new maps now it's bricked and I really need it as I'm travelling tomorrow! :(

But all these files are'nt available

If you just want it back the way it was, use navigon fresh to reinstall your navigators default software, then grab newest maps from here:
