Working Primo from my device

Tue Jun 22, 2010 12:02 am

This is the working Primo program direct from my device [Mio C320]. Not only is it the whole program with Primo TTS but it also has my modified TTS_LOQ folder, .dlls and the louder voices [both English US and UK] that gives you several TTS choices rather than the the one in Primo. It also has my content so please do the following: in the content folder delete all the maps except for the basemap and delete all the POIs - unless you want those US states. Plus delete the "save" folder.

I know that I would appreciate it if someone would make a mirror of this download. Probably not a good idea to use Rapidshare.

Thanks a bunch!

On an unrelated note, is there a way to get it not to read all the .wav files in the music player?

You can make it search for music or pictures in specific folders by putting this entry in sys.txt:

[oasis]
exclude_directories="%myflashdisk%\,%root%\windows,%sdcard%" ; do not search in flaskdisk, sdcard, or windows
include_directories="%sdcard%\Music,%sdcard%\DCIM" ; search only in Music and DCIM folders in SD card.
; modify folders to suit your own. Personally, I put mp3's in Music and pictures in DCIM in SD card.

Do you know the port and baud for your unit? These must be placed in your sys.txt. Are you running any other nav program now? You might be able to find those values there.

Have you been able to run iGO 8.3?

Hey, thanks again. I've been able to get primo and 8.3.4 running with TTS. Unfortunately, my 8.3.4 does not have the "extras" button for all the oasis apps. Any clue here?

Sorry but I don't know about Oasis. Perhaps someone else that's a member here can help.

I like it a lot but have one question.
I have primo on my C320 but the screen is not bright enough.
With miomap i can see the screen even with sunnys on but with primo not.
Is there any way to up the brightness in primo?
Thanks in advance for any info.

I have not experienced that at all on ym c320. I have seen it mentioned before, not sure if it was you who mentioned it or not. There are some registry tweaks you can do within the Mio itself (not recommended) that can increase the brightness, however that will effect the device as a whole, not just while Primo is running. I personally do not know what the regedit commands would be, you'll have to use google to find them, or maybe someone can post them for you that knows them.

Before worrying about that though, try going into your Mio's settings before launching Primo and making sure you have the brightness turned all the way up. After that, when you run Primo, go into Primo and adjust (assuming you can, I never looked for it) the brightness setting in it. Hopefully that will take care of it not being bright enough and you won't have to worry about messing with the registry at all and possibly messing up your device.

Yay!!! that did the trick :)
The backlight was turned all the way down for miomap but has to be all the way up for primo.
The backlight slider in primo doesn't work on the C320.
Thanks for the help

Hi Chas
Looks a great download, but is it possible to get it without US maps. The maps blow out the file to almost 700Mb, which plays merry hell with my download li9mit.

Yes, but give me some time. It DOES take some work on my end.

Hi Chas
I was not expecting you to drop everything and do the upload, it was just a request if you could do it. I am sure there are a number of members who would appreciate a copy of your working Primo who do not live in US. Thank you for considering doing this.
