Citroen C4 II Hatchback 2011 - Updating Maps

Postby Schneider97 » Mon Jun 05, 2023 9:59 pm

Hi everyone

I have Citroen C4 II Hatchback 2011 with a factory navigation system.
I like how it looks and the way the car displays the map by default, and I couldn't find any Android alternative that fits as good as the factory multimedia.

Therefore, I'm looking for a way to update the maps on my vehicle.
What would be the best way to approach this? I've tried searching this forum, but I couldn't find any downloads for my vehicle nor I know where to look for.
Could someone point me in the right direction, please?

Thanks!

Hi Schneider97,
First, identify your equipment, It could be MyWay (RNEG) or eMyWay (RT6).

Hi there! Thanks for a reply. How do I check my version?

I can't find anything regarding system version or build. If I hold SETUP button, it'll open Help modal with two buttons - Radio-telephone diagnosis and Navigation demonstration.

The first one has Unit description as an option and there's something that's called SW Version - unit. It starta with RNEG2.1.G5 and there are a lot of other numbers after it. Is that it?

Thanks.

So, It's an RT6 with old firmware.
Latest maps update can be found here WORLD - MAPS RT6, SMEG, SMEG+, SMEG+IV2, WIP Nav+

Thank you!

Question, is it RT6 for sure, as the version says RNEG so I assumed it was that one?

Should I also update the firmware, or just maps?

Thank you again for for taking your time to go through this with me.

The firmware version is called RNEG2 but it's really an RT6 (eMyWay) with SW 2.1.G5 (September 2011).
The RNEG (MyWay) have firmware 20.xx, 33.xx, 40.xx or 50.xx, maps are on the SD card in front panel.
Updating the firmware is not mandatory if you're happy with the system.

Thanks @mytheuzen. I'll try it out.

Do I have to pay attention at the CID number or something? I'm looking for Southern Eastern Europe map.

I see two versions of the 2020 map. Apparently those are the latest ones, right?

CID:020,118,0,4,2020,"19/11/2020","SOUTHERN_EASTERN_EUROPE","HERE"
CID:020,117,1,2,2020,"8/9/2020","SOUTHERN_EASTERN_EUROPE","HERE"
M49RG20-Q0220-2151

I have two more follow up questions:
1. What about speed cameras? Are those installed separately, or do they come with the map update?
2. If I wanted to update the firmware, how would I approach that?

Thank you!

No need to pay attention to the CID number, but you need the DRM key, calculated with "CCT.DAT.inf" file and your VIN code.
The latest map is:
CID:020,119,0,4,2021,"27/10 2021","SOUTHERN_EASTERN_EUROPE","HERE"
[Please Register or Login to download file]
There are no speedcams on the map update and the official ones don't cover Southern Eastern Europe. You can use the SCDB database.
Updating the firmware may cause some Bluethoot echo problems on the call.
