iGo Primo v9.2 Europe for ERISIN 2DIN CAR DVD - WinCe 6

Response to nabi on the maps:
I can't seem to find the NavTeq for the iGO. All the links are empty which is understandable.
I found teleatlas maps for igo both tor q1 2011 and sept. 10.
The 2011 maps are for tom tom and have tom tom in the map file names. I guess I need to look into converting them.

If there's a place to find links to the navteq maps for usa iGO Primo or convert from another brand, please point me towards a link to a post on that.

Sorry to spam...
I think I found them. I found the navteq maps for Navigon's MobileNavigator. Those seem like they should work. If I really get that lane assist UI pictured on the download page, I'll be thrilled.

Lots of the partXX.rar files (perhaps all since I didn't check) have this file and the same sys.txt and data.zip files.
Won't these overwrite each other when I unpack the RARs and put them on an SD card?

In a multipart (split) RAR file, all the parts have an 'index' of the entire package (and perhaps a small piece of each file shown depending on how the initial complete package was split) which show when you view them individually. As long as all the parts are located in the same folder, just start the extraction on the first 'part', and the other parts should follow as they are needed automatically. If you try to extract them one by one, then you will see "Overwrite?" again and again and the extraction process may fail at some point.

I would have totally buggered that. Thanks for the tip. It's a keeper. I've been reading a lot of your posts too. I think you did the Primo I got last night. How cool of you.

Well then here's another tip (that I forgot to add in the post above):
Never try to extract directly to an SD Card. It usually does not work out well. Extract on computer, then copy files to the SD Card.

I am at work and can not visit download sites, certainly cannot download. I saw a thread that points to NT 2010Q4 USA maps (http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?6205-USA-Canada-Q4.2010.Navteq-maps-pois) and checked the post. It's a protected link, you need the password, possibly solve a captcha (to test you are human LOL) to download. The link itself should be working, When not, PM somniantis (you should be able to PM now) or post a request here: http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?7346-REQUEST-Make-your-requests-for-iGO-and-Primo-here.
I should tell you that Navteq maps aren't refreshed in the same sequence as the TomTom-TeleAtlas alternative, which are mostly newer.

This is a bit tricky. First you must realize that you can't fiddle with Garmin devices. Possibly you can, but you need someone who knows Garmin to assist here. I am not one of them. The main reason is that Garmin is a Linux (adapted by Garmin) device, only capable of "playing" Garmin software. When you really want to fiddle with devices, you need Windows based ones.

Some iGO builds have lane assistance in the same "eye candy" way, but more simple lane assistance (either some arrows arrows or traffic signs) are there in all iGO's. The "eye candy" lane assistance is not possible on every exit either (map issue I suppose).
In any way, you can install some nice skins to add nice features as well. First set up your device, then make a backup (full copy on external disk), only then install a skin.

Question for Nabi:
Hi Nabi,
I was unpacking the files and reading through your notes and had some questions...
In the erisin/igo filesystems, I have the content/maps with .fbl files + all the other folders you mentioned.
As I underdstand, I should empty those for the new image.
Then, in the unpack of a set of NavTeq USA maps, I have a maps directory with a whole bunch of ".map" files.
Are you saying that the igo software will know what to do with the .map files? Do I need to change their extensions? Or, did I just get the wrong set of files.
The NavTeq maps I got were NAVIGON-USA-CANADA....
I could not find any usa maps in the igo8 sticky maps posts.

Lane assist "eye candy"

Postby barrys » Tue Nov 08, 2011 4:27 am

I think the fancy 3D "eye-candy" lane assist is something I could easily live without. On my Garmin nuvi, i've got the little arrows in the upper right which is fantastic and doesn't ruin my map view.
I just hadn't seen that in any of the iGo screenshots. So, I thought it was all all or nothing with the full screen 3D lane view or nothing.

I must say that when driving through LA with all these exits you have to make -- right and left -- to stay on the same highway, the little-arrow lane assist was just amazing.

No matter what, that nuvi's going with me on long trips. Who knows what map holes and other issues I might end up with as I try my noob-ass attempt at getting one of these WinCE setups going.

I've got what should be a good setup for the Erisin with iGo Primo USA. If the dude who's supposed to sell me the unit ever comes through I'll give it a whirl and share the results if I don't end up driving off a cliff...
