1: connected to pc deleted all "my Flash disk" files.
2: Soft reset.
3: connected to pc (in screen calibration mode) deleted "config.sys" from "my flash disk".
4: Copied everything from my flash disk archive on pc and pasted in "my flash disk" on pna.
5: completed screen calibration.
6 Turned off, turned back on (by reboot you mean off on, not hard or soft reset?) "message application not installed please insert sd/mmc card and click OK".
7: inserted 2gb card with IGO and 1 map in, turned off, turned back on.
8: "message application not installed please insert sd/mmc card and click OK". Clicked OK
9: Then received the message I know so well.

It appears the boot exefile is not the same as the 210T, and it requires a bit more work...
I examined the reg hack and came up with this, it should fool the device into thinking the application is installed and run MNAVDECE.exe.

So try this...

Connect device to PC

Open My Flash Disk

Create a folder called Medion

This step may not be necassary!
Find the fake mnavdce.exe from my archive, make two copies and rename one to Setting.exe and the other to MP3Player.exe and copy them both to the Medion folder on the device

Find Menu.exe and Menu.mscr from my archive and rename them to MNAVDECE.exe and MNAVDECE.mscr respectively

Copy MNAVDECE.exe, MNAVDECE.mscr and the rest of the files from the My Flash Disk archive (except the navigation folder)

Disconnect and reboot...
Currently sleeping...

Unfortunately produces the same result, "installation files not found" (Card has the MobileNavigator,AUTORUN.INF & ICON.ICO) showing from "Storage card" archive.
Can you clear up what you mean by "reboot", ie: soft reset, hard reset or just on of switch, so I'm not messing it up there.

Hmmm, maybe you need the reg edit?

I'll look into the reg hack again...

A soft reset will do.

Thanks FBF, but I think I cracked it
1: Downloaded "Desktopfrie"
2: Installed the "my flash" and "storage card" files you suggested, to Device and Card respectively.
3: Soft reset.
4: Added a Map to Contents/Map folder.
5: Connected device (active sync/wmdc) to pc.
6: Ran the "Freedesk" exe file on my desktop, it found device and installed the program to it.
7: Soft reset. (Device now has a basic windows interface).
8: Clicked the windows, Start/Programs/Windows Explorer and located the Igo.exe on the card.
9: Created a shortcut to desktop File/send to/Desktop as Shortcut.
10: Double clicked Igo.exe shortcut.
11: Installed, Sorted.

Ps, Freedesk will be removed if the device is "Hard Reset" or the battery runs out. but its only about 3 clicks to reinstall so no big drama.

Saves me the bother of looking for the answer myself, I was actually in tonight to do it as well!!

Wince 4.2 does not support persistent storage, (this is not added flash memory) that's why you have to reinstall after a hard reset or power off, can be a pain but means if you break something it just needs a power off to fix it!

I appreciate all the help, glad I figured it out, I was beginning to think I would have to put it back on ebay as "defect". Shame it doesn't take bigger cards. I could load it up with mp3's and substitute it for my current player in the car as well,
Thanks again.
happy to say, you can mark this as Solved
