And what version of IGO should I install and how?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can. Have a look in the iGO section for the different elements.

if your unit has a SD card slot, or microSD slot on it, then putting iGo on the unit will be super easy, and works very well..

I, myself can't stand the crap that Magellan put on mine..

Is it possible to unlock the Roadmate 1424 and install IGO ? If so are there any links here to the information I need to do it?

It doesn't have a SD slot...

Thanks...

You may not need to unlock your device. First, make a complete back up of your device's internal disk to a safe place [your computer]. Then delete everything from your device that is navigation program related or simply re-name the program's .exe to another name - but write down what that exact name is before you change anything. Then install iGO to your device and rename its .exe to whatever the first .exe was. Hopefully this works but please know that it's your device so you have to make the decision if you want to try this.

Hi:

On my Magellan Roadmate 1424 I've tried moving IGO into the App directory and renaming it to "Navigator.exe" as suggested but it didn't seem to work.

I then installed a program called "Softbutton.exe" and I've had limited success...

I have softbutton renamed to Navigator.exe. It starts up ok and it allows me to start IGO in it's own directory however mgnshell.exe stays running in the foreground and I can't see IGO. I can use the softbutton software to kill mgnshell and IGO works great with the exception that to shut it down I have to slide the power switch all the way to reset.

mgnshell runs at startup but doesn't started through "startup.xml" like Navigator & Onetough does. I also understand that it's needed for USB connectivity so I can't disable it.

Has anyone encountered this problem? if so what did you do to work around it.
