now it is well and truly bricked,tried a few firmwares from the link,now unit fails to start,charge or anything,its well and truly dead:(

Can't get much deader, and nothing to lose.
They may just replace it. If they investigate and deny the warranty, still nothing lost--except maybe shipping cost.

can you send me the files for 7" gps you used the first time please?
