Create a new text file on your PC and type this

\SDMMC\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe

And save as SHELL.ini
Not SHELL.ini.txt

Copy to the root of the SD card and try again.

Change the resolution settings in the file "sys.txt" in the root of the iGO folder with notepad to 320x240

Map UK & ROI 870.3417

Extract everything and arrange onto a SD card like this...

[b]\SDMMC\Navigator\Tomtom Navigator.exe + other files/folders.
\SDMMC\AutoActivate.exe
\SDMMC\ZIP\Great_Britain.postal + Great_BritainPostal.ver
\SDMMC\United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_870_3417\Cline.dat + other files.

Open Notepad on your PC and type...
\SDMMC\Navigator\Tomtom Navigator.exe
Save as SHELL.ini NOT SHELL.ini.txt <- Double check this!

Copy to the SD card as well...

\SDMMC\SHELL.ini

Reboot your device and tap OK then Navigation.
Tomtom will start and complain about map activation error. (In French)
Copy everything off the SD card to the root of a USB memory key or the root of a local drive and run AutoActivate.exe
Wait until it reports it has finished and then copy everything back, Overwriting where necessary.

Tap Navigation again...

Hello Fatboyfun! I'm new to this forum and decided to jump on the bandwagon on Sat Nav gadgets. I just bought the X350 Wince 5 which was a bargain I must say and I want to play around with it. I quoted one of your posts from 07-08-2011 and before downloading those 4 files I just want to ask whether those steps are all I need to do to change my Sat Nav? And whether those files are still up to date? As I know there are new maps and that all the time and I don't know if by downloading those 4 files I have access to the newest maps etc.

Thanks!

Yes although some X350 owners have problems with Tomtom not recognizing maps on there device, If this is the case for you, You can install iGO 8 or iGO Primo which have regularly updated maps as well.

It really is that simple with Binatones... (As long as you stay out of the registry)

Guide to Binatone devices.

Thank you for the reply.

I just downloaded the following files and can you help me see whether they can run normally if I follow the tutorial correctly for installing it for the X350

Tomtom Navigator 7.450 (Can this be upgraded? Also what does it do?)
AutoActivate_v1.8.7.1_24.07.2011 (I think this is the newest version?)
Latest Postcodes V875 (I think this one is suitable?)
Map UK & ROI 870.3417. However, I saw that there is a Map UK & ROI 875.3613 but on the compatible sheet here: [Please Register or Login to download file] apparently it don't work on nav 7.450. However, there is a patched version so what is the patch version? Will it work on my X350?

Finally if its not too much trouble, will the TomTom official speedcam files found on this link: http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?6933-TomTom-Official-Speedcams-23.08.11 work on my X350 or is it strictly TomTom sat navs only?

Really grateful if you can answer my questions above

Thanks

On WinCE PNA's you have a choice of 7.450 or 7.910, 7.450 works on more devices than 7.910, And 7.910 does not give you any extra features over 7.450. This is the Tomtom application.

It doesn't have to be the newest version.

novadragon849 wrote:Latest Postcodes V875 (I think this one is suitable?)

Yes.

UK & ROI 870.3417 is the latest UK map suitable for the WinCE version of Tomtom, It won't be long before an 875 version is available.

Yes official Tomtom speedcams work, Premium cams will need activating like the map.

Hi all, I'm also the owner of a poor X350.
I've downloaded the IGo8 software from the link in post #89, renamed the folder and exe file exactly as described, and created the SHELL file in the root of the XDcard.
When I put the SD card in the device and start it up, I get the message " ERROR - Program application database cannot be found".

Can anyone advise me the next step to take to cure this?
I'm totally new to this but this great site has helped me this far.

Cieran

EDIT: Now I've put the SD card back into the PC, there's an additional file on it. This is called iGO8, it contains 3 sub-folders, content, custom and save, all empty. This wasn't there when I renamed the original file to MobileNavigator, there was just MobileNavigator and SHELL on the card.
Is this relevent?
