Binatone X350 problem

Sat Mar 05, 2011 8:31 am

Hi all , would like to say hello to everyone on the site and hopefully get to know some of you guys better .

I am running TT7 on my Binatone x350 and have been trying to update my map to the latest version using the map with the installer and fast active.

I deleted my existing map and extracted the new map to my SD card but when i open my Sat Nav i get the message no maps found.

Can anyone guide me through this please

My device name is Binatonecarrera
Application is 7910
Device ID is *********

Thanks in advance

Dykey

What map are you trying to install?

I would remove your device ID to keep your device secure.

I am trying to install United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_865_3245 over my current map United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_860_3126

and now i have typed it out on here i am guessing the 865 maps probably arent compatable with my unit !!

I have UK&ROI V865.3262 with navcore 7.450 working fine on several devices, Try that one.

To be honest its the first time i have tried to update just the map ( last time i went from TT6 to TT7 and everything was really well documented on Simplesatnav.com ) . I have tried using a version of easyusetools but it is failing when i get to "runmefordct.bat" ( i get the message no metatxt found) so not sure what i am doing wrong ?

Download UK&ROI V865.3262 - TT maps section
Download AutoActivate - TT speedcam/voices/other->other section

Remove existing map folder
Copy new map folder into it's place
Copy AutoActivate.exe next to new map folder
Run AutoActivate.exe from your PC
Done!

This assumes you are using a SD card, If you are not and your device is connecting via ActiveSync/WMDC follow these instructions instead...

Download both above files
Copy both map folder and AutoActivate.exe to either a spare SD card or a USB memory key
Copy TTNavigator.bif from your device to the SD card/USB memory key
Run AutoActivate.exe from your PC
Copy map folder to your device
Done!

will give it a whizz , i already have fastactive ( verison 1.8 ) on my SD card , should i replace that with Auto activate or will it do the same job ?

Sun Mar 06, 2011 1:06 pm

It will do the same job but with an extra mouse click.

Followed the instructions ( used autoactivate) and i get the message " this is not the correct activation code for this map " or words to that effect ( my batteries just died on me so cant read it lol )

Any clues ??

List step by step exactly how you patched your map.

Mon Mar 07, 2011 7:26 am

ok i deleted my old map from my SD card ( and also the version of fast active i had on there )

Downloaded the map file to a folder on my laptop
Downloaded Autoactivate to the same folder
I dragged the map file from my laptop to my SD card
I copied the Autoactivate file and pasted it onto my SD card
I then ran Autoactivate and all seemed ok

Then put SD card back in my Binatone and started up and followed my normal procedure ( Double click SD card , then Mobile Navigator then my TT logo )

Thats when i get the message

Thanks Dykey

Are you using a card reader or a USB cable?

Mon Mar 07, 2011 8:19 am

Card reader ( albeit a very cheap one but it does the job ) . Do i need to extract the map files rather than drag them onto the SD card ??

Mon Mar 07, 2011 8:29 am

Yes!

Your folder tree should look like this...

\{root}\{mapfolder}\CLINE.DAT...

Confirm there is a U...309.meta.dct file in the map folder.

Not at the moment , i am at work and everything else is at home !!!. Thanks for your guidance on this its much appreciated , i will remove the maps folder from my SD card and " extract it " to the SD card rather than drag it over .

Cheers
