I will check and get back to you, BTW for Tomtom Navigator you should be downloading UK&ROI V870.3417 as the extra features in V870.3391 are not supported.

OK got the files now, sorry for being a bit of a pain.
I now have all the downloads on my pc and will now put them on the SD card.
Do I put the files on the SD card or the file contents ?

Post 13 has all the info.

All the folders to be kept seperate and in the root of an SD card...

E:\Navigator\Tomtom Navigator.exe ...
E:\UK & ROI V870.3417\Cline.dat ...
E:\Zip\Great_Britain.postal ...
E:\AutoActivate.exe
E:\SHELL.ini

Where E:\ is what your PC calls your card reader...

it now starts up in tomtom, but it is in french.
first page says "card not found" in french. ?

Yes it starts in French, but you can change it later.

Read this tutorial about activating the maps and setting up Tomtom

Language is on page six of settings with an icon of some flags, After setting everything up exit Tomtom (Page three main menu) to force Tomtom to save the settings as it caches the disk writes for a while.
