Hi,

I tried universal shell on my unbranded Chinese gps running windows ce6. All was well until I reverted back to the original shell and now the gps is not detected. Last program I used in universal shell was the speedo.exe.

Any ideas??nothing I do now makes the system find the gps receiver. Auto detect scans all ports and can't find anything. Gps receiver was originally on COM2

Hi,

i successfully installed this on my binatone g500 but I noticed something wrong with the clock. When I powered the device off and power it on, the time gets back to january 2007. How do i fix this? thanks.

That is normal behaviour, the clock will be set when the device gets a satellite lock, not many devices have a real time battery backed up clock installed.

Go into the power properties within the Windows CE control panel and select the schemes tab, then select Never in both drop down menus, Test to see whether the device suspends after the specified time, If not and the change survives a power off then problem solved, If it reverts then you'll need to edit the registry on startup using BootAutorun.mscr

Hi, first I wanted to say thank you for this app.
Im using igoPrimo on lower end Maestro 3225 that I dont want to hand off with anything showing but the nav interface, and by tweaking this to my needs I have it "just about" perfect.

one thing Im being stymied on is getting the control panel applet for date and time to run to set the time zone properly.
the windows c/e applet doesnt seem to actually be included. and im not having much luck....
I tried copying some things from miopocket...

Can you access the wince control panel? Is the date/time applet there?

if I go to alarm , and your interface for changing settings for date and time, the dialog for "now i'll launch wince control panel for you to set your time zone" dialogue appears, but then just skips to universal shell's next screen, the control panel applet never actually appears.

if i run the "controlpanel.exe" a control panel shows up with only 2 options
sysinfo and USBfunction switcher

thanks

(it wouldnt be an issue except the auto synch doesnt appear to correct properly for saylight savings time)

The date time applet isn't installed on your device, that's why it doesn't appear.

It may be possible to write the registry directly...

yeah I started off with a clean drive and just about nothing but the Universal shell

I tried picking off some of the underlying windows stuff from MioPocket install, but am not succeeding.

I tried looking at your ini file, before and after various time settings, but the time info was a mega string of digits, was hoping it was something like -1 -2 -3 , +1 +2 etc indicating the zone from GMT

4493

This text file contains the mortscript command to set the timezone to UK time...

I can't find a copy of the date/time control panel applet at the moment..?

thanks for trying.

its a minor thing, nice if I can get it, but not a deal breaker if I cant.

I replaced all splash screens/startup screens with the same jpg , including the "desktop" one, so when u turn it on it all looks seamless.

Im very happy with the Universal shell, thanks again for developing it.
I dont wanna hand off units with miopocket , on these its too bloated IMO, and user issues would be endless.
This setup, turn it on, it runs the nav software, when you exit igo the 3 buttons on your desktop are , reload igo, screen off, and reboot.
all other buttons are hidden and very difficult to hit in this smaller screen if you dont know they are there
