Medion's can be updated easily as can Targa's, What's the model number of the medion?

Mon May 09, 2011 2:10 pm

My medion is a MD 96130, Model No. MDPNA 315T. After half a day of reading and trying i managed to put gopal 5.5 on Medion. Dunno what else is working on it because after installing GoPal I can't reach windows anymore, the unlocks that worked before don't work anymore. Is there a better alternative to GoPal? On Targa i managed to run Garmin still have to put the maps on it, at least the one for GB. (not sure where they go or where to take them from yet)

I don't know the specs of the 315T, but iGO 8/Primo usually works ok on Medions, The gopal software is ok to a degree but is tricky to install and updates are rare.

Managed to make the Garmin XT working, had to launch and set the portsplitter which i set to around 34.500 baud rate and ticked the autostart option. Now i just need a Skin to load at startup.

A skin on Garmin Mobile XT? Never had to do that.

I meant a interface that loads at startup from which i can choose whether i want garmin, windows or another app

There are plenty here, I even created one, (See my sig.) Pick one you think is best for you, You only need a simple shell/frontend rather than 200MB's of MioPocket.

There are now 2 problems I'm having a bit of trouble with:
1. The Port Slitter utility doesn't remember the settings
2. The map I donwloaded which is made of two parts, one of around 300mb for GB and NI and another big one for the rest of europe (I'm using just the one for GB because of the size, I have just a 1Gb card) is seen by Garmin as locked, even tho' it should be unlocked. It was the only one i found just for GB alone.

I'm a retired iGO mod but I do know something about Garmin Mobile XT so I'll put in my two cents here.
1. I have trouble with XT remembering some of my settings. Recently it started remembering everything. Why? I don't know.
2. My experience is that even though the map is unlocked, you should use JM keygen unlock for the maps and put the .UNL into the Garmin folder anyway.

Port splitter saves it's settings in the registry so these are lost when you turn off your device, There is a script that puts then back before Garmin starts.

It was from disneyworld

These are the registry entries that Portsplitter needs, Use Mortscript to write them back into the registry before Garmin starts.

The bold items will need to be adjusted for your device.

RegWriteString( "HKLM", "SOFTWARE\JAL\Port Splitter", "InstallPath", SystemPath("ScriptPath") )
RegWriteDWord( "HKLM", "SOFTWARE\JAL\Port Splitter", "MajorVersion", 1 )
RegWriteDWord( "HKCU", "Software\JAL\Port Splitter", "Split", 2 )
RegWriteDWord( "HKCU", "Software\JAL\Port Splitter", "Autostart", 1 )
RegWriteDWord( "HKCU", "Software\JAL\Port Splitter", "Baud", 11 )
RegWriteDWord( "HKCU", "Software\JAL\Port Splitter", "Port", 2 )
