Passport Escort IQ Unlock Help

Postby homer51 » Fri Apr 13, 2012 10:20 am

Hi to all,

I'm owner of Passport Escort GPS with DDR inside, good product, WinCE 6.0

The problem is that the map inside are for US only, the product is really near from Insignia NAV01C, WLNANavi480_272 .. I replace WLNA_Navi.exe to make some changement, Gps boot, Igo Primo, all was
near perfect.

Other i made a little (big) mistake with total commander, while deleting a folder 'DB' (original map) on Storage Card,
since i can boot any more on GPS, and like i can launch again Total Commander i can correct the problem :(

I have a SD card boot with boot.bin,Eboot.nb0,nk.bin compiled to restore some files, but not to re-create the folder delete, if anyone have an idea how i can fix my problem, it's welcome !

The Gps is connect via USB, but seen in Com5, it boot on internal Storage Card, the external SD card is only for Update

Thanks

When you say "internal storage card" is that actually a SD card or a flash chip labelled storage card?

I have no experience of this device so can you explain what state it's in now, specifically whether there's evidence of windows booting but stopping due to missing files or registry, also are the files you put onto the storage card to update standard ROM update files or are windows ce applications and can you modify them, also is there any USB connection available?

The problem as I see it is a required file has been deleted from the flash drive which is stopping windows from completing it's startup procedure, now where windows is stopping during it's boot sequence is an important factor here

A little bit off topic here (and this is assuming you get the device working again which I hope you do), but a caution.
If you intend to use the device outside the US, where mostly radar detectors are grudgingly accepted by the powers that be, do be aware that it is not so in other countries (most of Europe and maybe Canada..not sure about Canada) where it could get taken away and you would not get it back.
Even though it is also a GPS, at it's heart is the radar detector heritage, which is all the local forces need to confiscate it.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Well, ok i try to explain as best as possible
The device is really near from Insignia NAV01C, all the boot done by flash memory wince 6.0, the state are now sequence booting like this
4059
4061 crash after boot, miss the DB 'folder'

The SD card update (backup light here) [Please Register or Login to download file] allow to boot on GPS and actualise the flash Storage card by copy folder DB and WLNANavi480_272
the problem is that the tool crash on copy because folder DB on flash storage card si no more present.. here 4060

I was expected that with SD card update i can re-create DB folder with modify something to launch total commander, but it seems more hard
as expected :(

Other USB is present yes, but only showed as COM port, so no access like TomTom or other GPS

No, not needed, The update can be done by Official tool or by SD card update, i made a backup of my Card here (without files in folder too big) hxxp://www.2shared.com/file/dP89K-0O/Repair.html

Here is the boot image here -- hxxp://img15.hostingpics.net/thumbs/min ... tboot1.jpg
after 20-30 secondes last image telling it miss files (DB folder inside) [Please Register or Login to download file]

With the Update SD card, update crash cause DB folder doesn't exist any more, see 4062

Some devices need activesync or wmdc to be installed on your PC to be able to browse the system
