Medion E3212 M10 unlock needed.......

Postby daktary » Fri Jun 10, 2011 6:26 am

ok, FM transmitter is solved.
I copied your sys.txt, and have now unlocked the tts function in the options.
I understand now the principe of using some modules of Gopal together with other applications.
I'll test now the automatic standby if connection to battery is on.
After I'will tune Primo, but that's something else...
Again thank you both for your help and advice.
I will continue to publish the results of my trials in this forum.

Great! You have come a long way, and now most everything should be working.
If you have any specific questions on the Pez menu, feel free to contact me by PM (it may not be of interest to everyone). Or any other questions about the P4440, of course. Or Primo.

And you are welcome. Good luck!

After one day testing my "new" gps, 3 issues:

- the sound of the entire device (gopal settings or rimo settings (si off) . after some reboots it's on again but I don't know why
- at the start of Primo, a popup says "unsupported voice, please see the log". I installed two ENG and two FR voices, but after start of Primo, the two ENG voices are visible, and sometimes works sometimes not. I yhink i confused the voices and the TTS voices (but is it different)
- the taskbar of the CE is often visible (reduced); a click on the desktop icon removes the bar

For the rest, TMC was for the first time usefull, same without antenna. Great.
The autostart and autoclose is effective.
And indeed the startup is very rapid.

1) If you enable the FM Transmitter, but then do not have an FM tuner on and set to the frequency you have chosen (at which time the sound will come through your car stereo speakers), the device internal speaker is OFF. Disable the FM Transmitter, and the device internal speaker is ON. And, there are other ways to Mute the speaker--within Primo, using Windows CE Control Panel, etc.
2) Whatever voices you added are currently not compatible with your Primo setup. There could be many reasons for this--first, if they are TTS (Text To Speech) voices, they have to be voices designed or modified to run under Primo 1.2 if that's what you have (no other iGO release). Secondly, it matters if they are Loquendo or Nuance voices, and you must have other support files (and possibly an entry in sys.txt) to use them.
3) This will happen from time to time depending what Window/Program may open. To minimize the effect, when the Taskbar is visible, Click Start/Settings/Taskbar, and uncheck the "Always on Top" option.

ok for fm transmitter
I've found on this forum the voices's post
I'd done this, but must repeat it, probably after hard resets

1) Well, again it depends what the voices are--all kinds of voices are available. Some will work with your current setup, some may not.
2) Yes. After a hard reset, everything is reset to default. Avoid hard resets for this reason unless absolutely necessary (then you will have to re-adjust some things--after a hard reset, the entire registry is wiped out and re-created. A soft reset retains any settings you may have changed.)

After one week, the use of Primo is easy but sometimes the taskbar appears again, without reset.
Not so important.
I'll continue to use Primo with new maps NQ and try other voices.
Thanks again.

Good!
You can try adding this to sys.txt (if it is not already there):

[debug]
hide_win_taskbar=1

On my older Medion i find the taskbar appears when a Windows dialog box (usually Activesync) pops up.

Yes. And sometimes when starting any other "Windows" app--like a Media Player--even when started from within Primo. But then it goes away when the app is minimized or the dialog box goes away. Probably nothing can be done about that. It's a Windows thing.

If it stays visible you could configure an external programme button to run hidetaskbar.exe

Yeah, I thought of that too. But the most I get (with Taskbar set to AutoHide and not "Always on Top"--as long as that setting sticks until the next hard reset) is a tiny gray line at the bottom of the screen while I am setting up the Media Playlist, and then it goes away when I minimize that and go back to Primo map view, so it doesn't bother me all that much.

I have only to understand what is the FM transmitter in Gopal. So is not helpful (I thought it was necessary to TMC). TMC is ok now (with or without antenna). A few minutes are necessary to keep the connected icon.
NQ maps gave a stupid route, so I went back to the TA maps. The view in relief is a bit confusing (at times the plot disappears behind the relief).

For radars with Primo, is it possible to manually add radars and save them to avoid having to add every time you update the file speedcam?
If I want to add more files speedcam.txt, can I rename speedcam1 ...
And what is the difference between the types of files speedcam (txt, poi, asc, ...)?

To be honest i'm not sure if this is possible within iGO.

daktary wrote:If I want to add more files speedcam.txt, can I rename speedcam1 ...

Once iGO has generated the .spud and .scdb files the speedcam.txt file is not required and can be deleted, or replaced.

These are different types of POI files not just speedcam files, iGO needs .txt files for speedcams
Currently sleeping...

The easiest way to add speedcam locations using the map is to use a Skin that includes that feature--such as diMka. Then, when you go to update/replace the speedcam.txt, delete that, and the .scdb file but leave the .spud (SPeedcamUpDate) file. It will be used again (with all your added speedcam locations) when you put in the new speedcam.txt file, and Primo/Igo rebuilds the .scdb file on the next start.
