Howto run IGO8 and Amigo on a Route 66 Chicago

Depending which version of iGo you are using, there may be an entry such as this in sys.txt:
Code: Select all
[gps]
port=2
baud=57600
source="nmea"

If so, that may be wrong for your device.
If you know the correct values for port, etc, edit that section so it is correct.

Or (and this is also if there is no [GPS] section) if you do not know the correct settings, within iGo go to Settings, > arrow to second page, tap GPS, make sure GPS Enabled is checked, then tap Autodetect. Write down what is found for Port and Baud rate, then edit sys.txt accordingly, restart, and see if your GPS then can find satellites.

PS. If the iGo version you are using contains this in sys.txt:
Code: Select all
[device]
type="Tempo_GPS-4305"

[project]
name="tempo"

remove both those categories (they set the GPS..perhaps wrongly for your device..to specifics for a "Tempo" hardware device)
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

And so....did you do as I suggested in the post above your last one?

It will not correct itself.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

I also said this when I pointed you to the good iGo versions:
Both may require modifying the sys.txt a bit for your device.

Now you have to do this:
[device]
type="Tempo_GPS-4305"

[project]
name="tempo"

remove both those categories

Then do this:
if you do not know the correct settings, within iGo go to Settings, > arrow to second page, tap GPS, make sure GPS Enabled is checked, then tap Autodetect. Write down what is found for Port and Baud rate, then edit sys.txt accordingly, restart, and see if your GPS then can find satellites.

So, after you write down [color="#FF0000"]what iGo found for port/baud[/color], add this to your (blank) sys.txt:
Code: Select all
[gps]
port=[color="#FF0000"]{put the port number here}[/color]
baud=[color="#FF0000"]{put the baud number here}[/color]

Save sys.txt after your edits, restart iGo, and see if it finds satellites.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Can you help?
