Hi,

I have a Route 66 Chicago and have IGO8 and Amigo running on it. Not sure what your difficulty is, but the key things are:

1. Use mortscripts to simulate the Route 66 Chicago file structure on the SD card.
- In the SD card, have a directory named Route66 and place into it the mortscript exe, the script file and the mortrunner exe,

MortScript.exe

R66Navigate7.exe <--- mortrunner exe needs to be the name of the exe you are tying to emulate

R66Navigate7.mscr <--- contains the instructions you wish to run. If you just want to run a single App, use a single line like this:

run("\Storage Card\IGO8\IGO8,exe")

2. Compress the exe (eg. IGO8.exe) you are attempting to run. I use UPX Shell with 2.92b compression.

IGO 8 and Amigo are straight forward to get to work once the compression is complete.

You should be able to figure it out from here.

It seems important to do the compression!!!

Acquire a 2GB SD card.
Make a directory on the SD card called Route66.
Copy complete iGO directory to root of SD card.

Download 2682
Extract the three files and place into the newly created Route66 directory.
Rename Script.exe to R66Navigate7.exe.
Rename Script.mscr to R66Navigate7.mscr.
Open R66Navigate7.mscr with Notepad on your PC.
Type Run ("\Storage Card\iGO\iGO.exe") save and exit, Make sure it is saved as R66Navigate7.mscr and not R66Navigate7.mscr.txt.

Download [Please Register or Login to download file] and install.
Start UPX Shell.
Click Open file/Open.
Navigate to iGO.exe.
Click Compress.
Select UPX 2.92b from the drop down menu.
Click Go.

Put SD card into satnav and switch on.
Test whether iGO starts.
Make required sys.txt edits and then configure iGO to your needs.

Hello,
I download igo primo and try to do this but it won't work
It turns on, appears first image Route 66 to select mp3 or gps.
I pressed gps and it says Warning: the application failed to start... Yes or No. And it restarted.
Can you help me with this.

Did you follow all the instructions? Especially this Type Run ("\Storage Card\iGO\iGO.exe") save and exit. Make sure it is saved as R66Navigate7.mscr and not R66Navigate7.mscr.txt. Probably needs to be saved as "all files."

Also, did you make the necessary changes in the sys.txt that are relevant to your device?

I saved as R66Navigate7.mscr. I don't know what i must to put on sys.txt.
I have a route66 chicago 8000. Can you help me with this?
On crash file appears that it couldn't find igo.map

igo.map is a file that is made by the locked iGOs. You are using an unlocked iGO, that doesn't make that file. So in the error log his message appears, but has no real meaning.
Delete the iGO save folder. This folder will be remade after a restart, but you start iGO from scratch and redo all settings.
If the problem persists, perform a soft reset.

What do you mean with a soft reset? Sorry about all these questions. I don't understand nothing of this.
I delete the save folder and it's the same thing. Gps turns on, i pressed on icon for gps and it restart, and do the same thing.
Is something about sys.txt file????

When iGO did not start, sys.txt is not the cause.

A soft reset clears the memory. Example, you do it when the unit freezes.
Read your manual how to do this.

Ok i understand.
I've made that but the problem still the same. always restart.
After a while appears a warning message saying: "The application failed to start last time. Do you want to reset to factory defaults and lose POIs, tracks and settings? YES or NO.
If i press yes or no is the same thing. the GPS restart again.

i don't know what to do. Do you have a Route66 too??

Where did you get your copy of iGO from?

Wed Apr 20, 2011 10:12 am

No route66 owner/user

Where did you get the iGO software? is the iGO.exe compressed?

Wed Apr 20, 2011 12:29 pm

I get igo software from download on internet.
I use UPX to compress iGO.exe
Do you now some link to download an iGO software??

Many thanks for your kindly help
