Wed Jan 25, 2012 8:11 pm

Dear all,

I really hope some of you could help me with installing IGO8 to a Becker Z101.

I have struggled through this forum and through the Internet but i can't find the correct solution.

It could be installed on the Navi it self or on a sd-card but i really don't know how to do this so could some of you PLEASE help me with this?

Thanks a lot in advance!!

I will try this again butare you sure this is working?

I never tried it personally, Just make a full backup of your original MNAV folder (including hidden and system files) before doing anything.

I followed the instructions which I found I the link you have given me.

When I start up the navi I get the message: "program application database cannot be found" and I think this has something to do with the sys.txt

My sys.txt is like underneath:

Code:
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/"

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
popup_info=1
poi_show_all_btn=1

[rawdisplay]
highres=0
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

[debug]
show_oneway_3d=1
show_oneway=1
show_gps_pos=1
skip_eula=1
show_pedestrian=1
poi_labels=1
show_arrows_on_route=1
tts_min_ready_wav=1
tts_getaway_time=200
tts_expected_engine_delay=1400
reserve_memory=2097152
sound_q_length="200"
no_file_cache="0"
cache="1024"
enable_roadshadow=1

[map]
popup_info=1
show_labels=1
3d_max_tiltlevel=9000

[msnd]
msnd.start=0

[tts]
tts_buffer=131072
tts_logics=3
priority="HIGH"
always_say_road_names=1
announce_street_name=1
announce_exit_directions=1
skip_exit_numbers=0

[sound]
queue_length=200

I assume the underneath is wrong but I don't know what it should be but for sure not sd-card as it is installed on the navi itself .....

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/"

Does somebody know what it should be there I tried a couple of things but it's not working :(

Put semi-colons in front of that entry in sys.txt so it looks like this:
;[folders]
;app="%SDCARD%/"

Then restart the device and see what happens.

Thu Jan 26, 2012 5:42 pm

Then I get the message:

The application failed to start last time. Do you want to rest to factory defaults and lose all your POI's, tracks and settings. YES / NO

But with both YES and NO the navi doesn't start .............

Delete the SAVE folder within your main iGo folder and try again...BUT FIRST, what is the resolution of your device?
If it is something other than 800x480, then do this in sys.txt (semi-colons again):

;[rawdisplay]
;highres=0
;screen_x=800
;screen_y=480

Then restart and report here exactly any error that may appear on the screen..exactly.

Okay, IGO is starting up now but ..... there is not GPS connection.

When I go to the settlements I see: no GPS-receiver found .

Do I have to add something to the sys.txt?

Thu Jan 26, 2012 6:57 pm

Getting closer! Good job.
Yes, you may need to add something like the following to your sys.txt if your version of iGo will not Autodetect the GPS settings:

[gps]
port=[color="#FF0000"]2[/color]
baud=[color="#FF0000"]57600[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]Insert the hardware settings for YOUR device.[/color] If you do not know them, there is a program you can get here that will help you:
:link:

To run it, you can copy it to where you have the (renamed) iGo.exe, rename the iGo.exe to "mobilenavigatorOLD.exe", for example (just add the OLD to whatever it is), then rename the WinCE device info *.exe to what your iGo EXE was, restart the device normally, write down the settings, and name everything back to what it was, then insert the correct settings into your sys.txt as above, restart again, and maybe you will be good to go!

YESSSS, it works with

[gps]
port=2
baud=57600

A lot of thanks for your help :thumbup:

Ahhhhhh...you cheated with a guess and just got lucky!
:)

In any case, glad you got it going and enjoy!

In order to win some space on the navi I deleted a lot of files but I'm wondering what there is in: content/dem

i see some files from other continents but can I delete them because it is a lot of MB?

Thu Jan 26, 2012 8:22 pm

This thread tells you what dem files (amongst others) are and whether they're actually needed or not.
