UPDATE: 06-06-13 - There appears to be some new hardware revisions, reports so far include supporting USB mass storage, supporting SDHC cards, running explorer.exe starts the WindowsCE desktop, being picky about which applications it runs and no longer switching on when external power is connected.

Can someone please point me to the instructions or a tutorial on downloading, I think they're called torrents?

TotalCommander is a (shareware) PC program but does exist in a CE version.
It's very easy to copy/move files and also to zip/unzip.
TotalCommander has inbuild Notepad. You don't need to unzip files to make text changes, just press f4.
