I have done some research and everyone is saying that it is not possible to patch this device so I guess that the only way to get EU maps is to buy them. It's been some time since I attempted to upgrade a satnav, but the information available here has enabled me to do just that. My device is working fine, but I have some sdcard related questions please.

GPS freezes on startup page and doesn't load maps. This all started to happen after a failed update.
Because of this Windows doesn't recognize it as an USB external device so I can't see any files.
Tried installing MioPocket as frontend for Windows CE on SD card but haven't had any success. I'd like to try and access files on this device to try and repair original files.

Anyone had any luck unlocking these devices? ...

Hello. Has any successfully replaced a Garmin Approach S40 battery? I don't see how to open it other than maybe taking a heat gun to it and loosening the adhesive. If i did that though I'm not sure what i would use to reseal it.

Update:- Seems to be no more support. The only way is to upgrade the whole head unit. :thumbdown:
