Discovered and corrected an issue with the North America map update that may cause to experience difficulty selecting a state when the unit is set in a language other than English.
If planning to use only the English language on your unit then it is not necessary to download the corrected map.

software is version 3.40 (just updated software via garmin web site)

Dion't blame me for this question :) Is it possible to install IGO8 on a garmin device? Why I would like this you ask? I have received a garmin device (nuvi 255W) but where i live, the IGO8 maps are better than the garmin maps :( unfortunatelly. So i was wandering if it is possible to put igo8 instad of the garmin navigation. Thank you.

Wondering if you guys have noticed this before. Tried a few units from different suppliers (but from same locality, which is China's famed electronics hub, Shenzhen (most likely your China GPS comes from here too)).

When I turn on the GPS Info in the Chinese software, the coordinates keep changing, for example, the usual coordinates in decimals is 8 digits. 12.345xxx. My final 3 digits, marked as xxx, keeps on changing. Happened in all the ...

Hello I have been trolling this site for hours now trying to find out how to update maps but unfortunately I still have no clue where to start. Usually I'm quite good at hacking modifying or just simply doing anything with electronics I'm not supposed to. But this time I feel stumped. I have searched for beginner tutorials and all I feel is more confused.

With the 8.5 navcore that is out for the 720 and has been for the past couple years now was able to connect to tomtom services through the cell phones with data plans. Would anyone know how to connect a Blackberry Bold 9650 when it asks if you would like to "maually configure" Does anyone know what to put in when it asks for point name, PW, IP etc?
