Hi Guys,

I bought a Insignia Nav01 GPS which has WinCE 5.0 OS, i totally hate the stock one which came with it. So is it possible that i can load TomTom Navcore onto it and run the maps.
I am new to GPS hacking, please point me in the right direction ..

If Tomtom does not work any other's like Garmin or Primo works too.

just been to ipmart site and from today it says all tomtom products are now banned from the site.
anybody posting any thing to do with tomtom will be banned

FWIW, here's my feeling about the NA Navteq maps. I have a pretty strong feeling that the Navteq mapmakers read these forums. They know that Navteq maps are much better in NA than is TA. There is something that Navteq is doing to keep their maps from being spread and shared. I don't know this to be true - like I said, just a feeling. :(

I'm looking for some advice with updating my TomTom and want to gather as much info and not end up bricking it.

I've connected it to TomTom Home and it shows that it is a TomTom XL 325 S.
My TomTom only has internal memory, which is nearly full and no memory card slot.

I'm trying to help someone out with IGO8, but my unit is a non HD unit and his is HD.

Besides the obvious (bold), what else needs to be done to the sys txt to make it HD 800x480? Plus any other files need to be changed?

Hi all,
I have been trying to update the sat nav on my Navsure n400i headunit in my car.

I've tried using iGo Primo, iGo8.3 and a stripped down 2Din version of iGo, with no success with any of them. I'm 99% sure I've set the memory card up correctly and configured my sys.txt and data.zip files correctly as well.

I keep getting an error message as follows:

Loading...
Updating navigation system, please wait.
Deleting ...

my 520 keeps asking for memory card and won't boot from internal memory
also when it does run it reboots itself after a short time

The upgrade of the map finally worked by following the instructions by Tendriver in post # 5 of the above thread.

However: the favorites weren't copied.

On the last page of the thread we finally worked out a way to achieve that, at least: that is what we thought. Because I reported it worked because I saw my favorites. However, I didn't actually have the TT calculate a route, ...
